A vacuum cleaner can suck cockroaches out of their hiding spots. Then they will eventually suffocate in the bag attached. From first hand experience, cockroaches will always run right towards the vacuum once you turn it on. It is really weird, it's like they want to die once they hear the sound of the vacuum cleaner.
