Biblical Wordwise Trivia Quiz

I enjoy doing wordwise quizzes featured on FunTrivia. However, I haven't seen any such quizzes with a Biblical theme, so I challenged myself to create at least one. The NKJV was used for this quiz.

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. BATAHABDIESTLE (If you're new to Wordwise, I highly recommend you first check out the quiz 'How to Do Wordwise Quizzes' in Brain Teasers.)

Answer: Ahab dies in battle

'Ahab dies in battle' is the correct answer. Details about Ahab, a wicked king of Israel, dying in battle appear in 1 Kings 22:29-40. Ahab's death had been predicted by Micaiah, a prophet of God. Ahab's wife was none other than Jezebel, generally regarded as the most wicked woman in the Bible.
2. PRIPETERSON

Answer: Peter in prison

'Peter in prison' is the correct answer. If you didn't get the item correct, on second reference, you will see the name 'Peter' inside the word 'prison.' Hence Peter in prison.

One of the more interesting accounts in the Book of Acts in the New Testament involves Peter's imprisonment and his miraculous escape. According to Scripture, Peter was set free from prison by an angel.

It's a remarkable story told in Acts 12:3-19. This was actually Peter's second jailbreak. The first one is reported in Acts 5:17-29. The fifth chapter of Acts tells of Peter being jailed with other apostles for preaching the news of a resurrected Jesus Christ. However, an angel of the Lord opened the prison doors, enabling Peter and the other apostles to escape.
3. E U T Y C H U S F A L L S

Answer: Eutychus falls down

The correct answer is 'Eutychus falls down'. Acts 20:9-12 tells of a young man named Eutychus falling asleep in a third storey window and falling to his death as Paul preached on and on. The passage tells of Paul raising Eutychus from the dead and then going back upstairs to eat and then preach some more.
4. N E K A T H A J I L E

Answer: Elijah taken up

'Elijah taken up' is the correct answer. Elijah's sudden departure is recorded in 2 Kings 2:11-13, while he was walking along with the prophet Elisha. The New King James Version Bible records Elijah being taken up to heaven in this way: "Then it happened, as they continued on and talked, that suddenly a chariot of fire appeared with horses of fire, and separated the two of them; and Elijah went up by a whirlwind into heaven. And Elisha saw it, and he cried out, 'My father, my father, the chariot of Israel and its horsemen!' So he saw him no more. And he took hold of his own clothes and tore them into two pieces."
5. JERUQUEENOFSHEBASALEM

Answer: Queen of Sheba in Jerusalem

'Queen of Sheba in Jerusalem' is the correct answer. The visit by the Queen of Sheba is recalled in the 10th chapter of 1 Kings and the 9th chapter of 2 Chronicles. Scripture reports she arrived in Jerusalem with "a very great caravan" carrying spices, large quantities of gold, and precious stones. Scripture also reports she was "overwhelmed" with Solomon's wisdom and his immense wealth. According to notes in the NKJV Study Bible, Sheba was located in southwestern Arabia, present-day Yemen.
6. 3 YYYYYYS men

Answer: Three Wise Men

Matthew 2:1-12 in the New King James Version Bible tells of three wise men from the east visiting the baby Jesus and presenting Him with gifts of gold, frankincense, and myrrh. In some Bible versions, the three wise men are described as Magi.
7. JESUS CHRIST EVER EVER EVER EVER

Answer: Jesus Christ forever

'Jesus Christ forever' is the correct answer. In this case, the word 'ever' is featured four times, representing 'forever'. Hebrews 13:8 in the New King James Version Bible states, "Jesus Christ is the same yesterday, today, and forever." The verse is exactly the same in the King James Version Bible and the New International Version Bible as well as a long list of other Bible versions.
8. SHIPPAULWRECK

Answer: Paul in shipwreck

'Paul in shipwreck' is the correct answer. Paul, the apostle to the Gentiles, survived no less than three shipwrecks, as per 2 Corinthians 11:25. One of the shipwrecks is documented in Acts 27 and 28. According to the chapter, Paul and his fellow workers were shipwrecked off the coast of Malta after their ship was caught up in a ferocious storm and severely battered for fourteen days. Details of the two other shipwrecks are not given in Scripture.
9. STORM SEA OF GALILEE

Answer: Storm on Sea of Galilee

'Storm on Sea of Galilee' is the correct answer. The four Gospels tell of Jesus calming storms on the Sea of Galilee on two different occasions.

Details of Jesus calming the first storm on the Sea of Galilee can be found in Matthew 8, Mark 4 and Luke 8. Details of the second miracle can be found in Matthew 14 and Mark 6. In both cases Christ rebuked the waves and all was placid, Scripture states.
10. MAJESUSBORNGER

Answer: Jesus born in manger

'Jesus born in manger' is the correct answer. Luke 2:7 in the New King James Version Bible tells of Jesus being born, wrapped in swaddling cloths, and then placed in a manger because there was no room in the inn.
