1. Before deciphering the first question, note that each question is coded using a keyword. For example, if the keyword is JOUST, the ciphertext should go like the following:
Plain Text : A B C D E F G H I J K L M N O P Q R S T U V W X Y Z
Ciphertext: J O U S T A B C D E F G H I K L M N P Q R V W X Y Z
Therefore, if JOUST is the keyword, J would represent A; O would represent B; U would represent C; S would represent D; and T would represent E. As for the subsequent letters (i.e. the letters that have not been substituted yet), they would be represented by the letters of the alphabet (in alphabetical order) that are not included in the keyword. Therefore, since the letter A is not included in the keyword JOUST, A would have to represent the letter F because F has not been substituted yet. However, the letter O would not be represented by J because J already represented the letter A via the keyword JOUST (see above ciphertext).
As you can observe in the above ciphertext, the letters V - Z are likewise represented by V - Z. This will sometimes occur in this quiz. Also note that each item contains a different keyword and therefore, a different ciphertext.
After deciphering the questions and the answers, it is your job to answer the given question. It would also help if you determine the keyword for each question, as you will see.
Here is an example (with a totally different keyword):

Obviously, the third number is three. Therefore, you pick three as the answer. Once again, it would be advantageous if you ascertain the keyword. To facilitate things a little, I would quickly reveal that the keyword for the above example is STRIVE.
(TIP: Look for words containing one, two, three, or four letters. They may represent common words such as A, THE, THESE, WHO, WHAT, etc. After that, write the ciphertext on a piece of paper or anything you prefer to determine the keyword.)
