Originally from London, David Beckham came from a family of Manchester United supporters, and was part of a generation of young United players that also included Nicky Butt, Paul Scholes and Ryan Giggs, during Sir Alex Ferguson's lengthy tenure as manager. He won several trophies with United before heading to Real Madrid in 2003. He was capped 115 times for England.

'Spice Girls' is a reference to Victoria Adams, one of the English girl group nicknamed 'Posh Spice' for her love of designer clothes and reserved demeanour. She became Victoria Beckham when she married David in 1999. Beckham's team mate Gary Neville was best man. Beckham became as famous for his celebrity marriage as he did for his footballing career.

He went on to captain the England team in 2016 after Steven Gerrard retired from international football; he was capped 120 times and scored 53 goals, making him one of the highest England goalscorers. He was also one of Manchester United's top scorers, with a total of 253 goals.

'Just Enough Education to Perform' is an album by the Stereophonics, a Welsh rock band. Rooney is a big fan and had the name of the album tattooed on his arm. He and his wife Coleen invited the band to play at their wedding reception.

Frank Lampard is the son of the former West Ham United player Frank Lampard Sr., the cousin of former Liverpool player Jamie Redknapp, and nephew of football manager Harry Redknapp. He became Chelsea's all-time top goalscorer, with 211 goals in all competitions, and signed for them from West Ham United in 2001, leaving in 2014 to go to Manchester City. He was capped 109 times for England. After retiring from football, he went on to manage Derby County.

He made his senior team debut for Spurs in 2011 in a Europa League qualifier against Hearts, and scored his first goal against Shamrock Rovers that season in another Europa League match. 'He'll blow you away' is a reference to the fact that 'Harry Kane' sounds like 'hurricane', a fact not unnoticed by many Tottenham fans.

He was capped for England 80 times, scoring 4 goals during Italia '90 and forming a partnership with Paul Gascoigne. He earned the nickname of 'Mr Nice Guy' due to being one of the few footballers never to have been booked or sent off in his career. After retiring from football, he became a pundit on 'Match of the Day', and later went on to present it. He presented one episode in his underwear, after promising to do so if Leicester City won the title in 2016.

'Crisps' is a reference to Walkers, a Leicester-based brand of crisps which Lineker has repeatedly endorsed over the years, sometimes sharing advertising space with other celebrities such as the Spice Girls. He is often depicted trying to steal people's crisps.

Outside football, he appeared on the documentary 'Rio Ferdinand: Being Mum & Dad', talking about the loss of his wife Rebecca to cancer and being a single father. 'He doesn't dance on the sand' is a reference to 'Rio', a song by Duran Duran, which features the line 'Her name is Rio and she dances on the sand.'

Paul Gascoigne, aka Gazza, was one of England's more memorable players in the late '80s and early-to-mid 1990s, not only for his prowess on the pitch - he was capped 57 times and scored 4 goals - but for his chaotic personal life and celebrations. These included reenacting a drunken night out with team mates in a Euro 1996 match against Scotland (the 'dentist's chair' celebration, where players were photographed lying in a dentist's chair and having drinks poured into their mouths), and pretending to play the flute in a Rangers match. Steven Gerrard, who would later go on to manage Rangers, cited Gascoigne as his footballing hero.

'Italia 90 upset him' is a reference to the footage of Gascoigne crying after he was booked during England's semi-final against West Germany, realising that he would miss the final if England won (they didn't, thanks to missed penalties by Chris Waddle and Stuart Pearce).
