Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Fill in the blank: 1, 10, 11, 100, 101, ... ?

Answer: 110

This is the binary code for the numbers. 1=1, 10=2, 11=3,... We are looking for the number 6=110.
2. Fill in the blank: 2, 4, 2, 6, 3, 12, 8, 40, ...?

Answer: 35

The rule is: multiply by n , subtract n (with n starting from 2)...
3. Take a 3 by 3 square. The first row reads: 2, 3, 1. The second row: 1, 4, 5. The third row: 9, ..., 26. Which number is missing here?

Answer: 43

The first row is cubed, the second row is squared, the third row is the sum of this. So 3x3x3 + 4x4 = 43. It could also be 1st row squared plus 5 times second row for an answer of 29 .
4. Can you divide 222222 by 6 and get a natural number?

Answer: Yes

To check if a number can be divided by 6, you need to add all the figures of the number. When the original number is even AND the sum can be divided by 3, the original number can be divided by 6. 2+2+2+2+2+2=12...
5. What will be the result when I add the even numbers from 1 to 100 and I subtract all the odd numbers from 1 to 100?

Answer: 50

There are 50 even numbers between 1 and 100, and also 50 odd numbers. When I subtract the first odd number from the first even number, the result will be 1. This can be done 50 times, so the result is 50 x 1 = 50
