Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Which ex-boxer was responsible for expressing the fear that he might "fade into Bolivian" after a bad defeat? (Hint: he didn't live up to his IRON reputation on this occasion)

Answer: Mike Tyson

"I might fade into Bolivian".
Tyson said this after losing to Lennox Lewis ... truly a Chilean prospect for any sportsman used to the limelight (sorry).

Michael Gerard Tyson became the first heavyweight boxing champion to unify all 3 codes (WBC, WBA and IBF) in 1988. His career began to go off the rails after an unexpected defeat to Buster Douglas in 1990 and a rape conviction in 1992 for which he served 3 years in jail. In 2002, when he fought Lennox Lewis (and was knocked out), he was 35 years old.
2. "It's really hard to maintain a one-to-one relationship if the other person is not going to allow me to be with other people." Which Hoosier lead singer said this about the mean and restrictive women in his life?

Answer: Axl Rose

I'm sure there's a twisted logic in there somewhere but it's clearly not one of which Rose has been able to convince the women in his life since his personal life has been as rocky as his professional one.

In 1990 he married Erin Everly. The marriage was annulled in early 1991. The same year he began dating supermodel Stephanie Seymour but they broke up soon after announcing their engagement in 1993 with each suing the other for assault. Ex-wife Everly was called to testify during the case and filed her own suit against Rose for assault and sexual battery. Rose settled both cases out of court.
3. "I don't think there is anything particularly wrong about hitting a woman... an openhanded slap is justified... if a woman is a bitch, or hysterical, or bloody-minded continually, then I'd do it. I think a man has to be slightly advanced, ahead of the woman." Which ex-Bond actor expressed this enlightened viewpoint?

Answer: Sean Connery

Oh Sean ...

Better known outside of acting for being an active support of Scottish independence, Mr. Connery said this in a "Playboy Magazine" article back in 1965 and only managed to dig a deeper hole for himself when called out about it by Barbara Walters twenty years later.

Sean Connery was born in 1930 in Edinburgh and was a milkman and a sailor before turning to acting in his mid-20s. His casting as James Bond was initially against the wishes of author Ian Fleming who considered him too "unrefined" to play the role of his creation, the suave Commander Bond.
4. "I think that gay marriage is something that should be between a man and a woman." Which ex-governor provided this bizarre commentary on his/her moral outlook back in 2003?

Answer: Arnold Schwarzenegger

To be fair to Arnold, he has long since reversed his position and come out in favour of gay marriage.

Arnold Alois Schwarzenegger (b. 1947) served as the 38th Governor of California between 2003 and 2011. He won a series of bodybuilding titles before moving to the U.S.A. and embarking on a film career, being billed as "Arnold Strong" in his first film, "Hercules in New York" (1970).
5. "No, No. I didn't go to England. I went to London." Which bird-brain tweeted this?

Answer: Paris Hilton

For sheer inanity, Paris really is hard to beat. That doesn't appear to prevent her trying to out-do herself. Frequently.

Paris Whitney Hilton (b. 1981) is the great-granddaughter of Conrad Hilton, of hotel empire fame. She began a modelling career in her teens, working through Donald Trump's agency, Trump Model Management, and has appeared on TV shows and in films.
6. "Smoking can kill you. And if you've been killed you've lost an important part of your life." Which former Mrs. Agassi gave us the benefit of this incontrovertible truth?

Answer: Brooke Shields

Ok, Brooke, we know what you mean so we're happy to give you the benefit of the doubt on this one.

Brooke Shields (b. 1965) became famous overnight when she appeared in the controversial film "Blue Lagoon" (1980) which featured teenage nude scenes. Apart from her acting career and her marriage to Andre Agassi, she has most recently been in the public eye advocating support for women who, like herself, have suffered from postpartum depression.
7. "I love the smell of diapers. I even like when they're wet and you smell them all warm like a baked good [sic]."

Answer: Sarah Jessica Parker

Really?! Come and smell my son's diapers and let's see if you're still as positive about them!

Sarah Jessica Parker (b. 1965) has 3 children with husband Matthew Broderick, a son and two twin daughters. She is best known for playing the role of Carrie Bradshaw in the hit TV show "Sex and the City" across 94 episodes and, as of 2017, 2 spin-off films.
8. "I was asked to come to Chicago because Chicago is one of our fifty-two states." Which icon of the 1960s, famed for playing the part of Loana in a deerskin bikini, was responsible for this double-dipping faux pas?

Answer: Raquel Welch

This was said by Raquel Welch on "Larry King Live". Personally, I could forgive Raquel a lot ... except for her acting ... and her geography.

Loana, of course, was Raquel's character in the film "One Million Years B.C." (1966). She had only 3 lines in the film but became a popular pin-up due to her appearance in that bikini.
9. "I've never really wanted to go to Japan. Simply because I don't like eating fish and I know it's really popular in Africa." Which geographically-challenged diva came up with this gem?

Answer: Britney Spears

Yes, it was Britney way back in 1999.

Britney Joan Spears (b. 1981) burst onto the music scene with her debut studio album "Baby One More Time" in that same year (1999). Her career faltered due to much-publicised personal struggles, but, fortunately, she has since managed to straighten out both, with a Vegas residency and a world tour in recent times.
10. "I definitely want Brooklyn to be christened. But I don't know into what religion yet." Which former denizen of England, Spain and Los Angeles offered us this pearl?

Answer: David Beckham

Yes, it was Mr., would-be Sir, David Beckham.

David Beckham (b. 1975) played for Manchester United, Real Madrid, L.A. Galaxy, Paris St. Germain and England during a long and distinguished football career. Even so, he was once cut above the eye by a flying football boot thrown by his irate manager, Alex Ferguson. Ferguson felt that his star player was losing his intensity for the game by overly embracing celebrity culture.
