Raymond Burr won two Emmy Awards for his portrayal of the title character in the show "Perry Mason". The character of Perry Mason was created by Erle Stanley Gardner, who was both an author and a lawyer. In the Raymond Burr television series "Perry Mason" the main character was a criminal defense lawyer in Los Angeles who specialized in defending clients charged with murder.
