Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Perhaps the "Mr and Mrs Smith" (2005) role started this knife collector

Answer: Angelina Jolie

Angelina Jolie played the role of Mrs Smith to Brad Pitt's Mr Smith in the action film. Both have secret lives as assassins, however they only discover this when each is assigned to kill the other. Angelina does some knife throwing during the main showdown. Perhaps presciently, one ends up in Brad Pitt's thigh.

Interviews, however, point to a much earlier starting age for the knife collection when she was a teenager. The size and contents of her collection is unknown, although she once demonstrated some skill with a butterfly knife on a talk show.
2. Willy Wonka and a Barbie doll collection

Answer: Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp played the factory owner Willy Wonka in "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory" (2005), a musical adaptation of the Roald Dahl book of the same name. The actor described in one interview how he developed the Willy Wonka character's voice, as well as various others when playing with his daughter.

He used dolls from his Barbie collection as the characters until she got fed up with his character voices.
3. "G.I. Jane" (1997) actress with penchant for bisque and art dolls

Answer: Demi Moore

Demi Moore played the lead role in the 1997 film. Her doll collection is extensive, reportedly over 3,000 strong, and now located in a house she built for them. She also has some G.I Joe figures, including one modeled on her ex-husband Bruce Willis, who played General Joseph Colton in "G.I. Joe: Retaliation" (2013). Joseph Colton is the name of the original G.I. Joe toy.
4. Spanish collector of coat hangers

Answer: Penélope Cruz

Born in Madrid, Spain, Cruz's acting career started at age 15. She has also modeled and, with her sister Monica, designed clothing for Mango and Agent Provocateur. This perhaps explains the interest in coat hangers. Little is known about the collection. There are said to be over 500 different types of coat hangers, however wire hangers apparently don't make the grade.
5. Singer who gave up her pig collecting

Answer: Janet Jackson

Janet Jackson has been in the singing business since 1982, although she actually started off on TV shows in various acting roles. This collection was started as a hobby when taking a temporary break from music. Numbers became a problem when fans started gifting her with them, so she had to give up her hobby. According to a report from 2004, there was no particular reason why she settled on pigs.
6. Model with a fascination for spiders and insects

Answer: Claudia Schiffer

German supermodel Claudia Schiffer had an interest in the beauty of nature as a child. This progressed from admiring dew on spider webs to collecting spiders and then insects. She married her interest with her sense of design in setting out her collection as museum-like exhibits in her home, supported by a large number of specialist books.

She also collects insect art. A spider makes it onto the label of her knitwear range of clothes.
7. Link between a talking teddy bear from "Ted 2" and taxidermy

Answer: Amanda Seyfried

Amanda Seyfried played a novice lawyer attempting to have talking teddy bear Ted declared a legal person. A taxidermy enthusiast in real life, she has been quoted as saying: "I love animals and they're are very easy to look after when they're dead." One of her favourite items is a stuffed miniature zebra given to her by the director of the film.

She has named the zebra Kevin Sparkle. Deyrolle, the taxidermy store in Paris, is a favourite.
8. "Love is Like a Butterfly" collection

Answer: Dolly Parton

"Love is Like a Butterfly" is the name of Dolly Parton's studio album released in September 1974. The title track of the same name is considered one of her signature songs. She has had her interest in butterflies since childhood, likes their loud colours and loves them "because they are free and beautiful".

The Chasing Rainbow Museum in her Dollywood theme park houses much of her butterfly-themed collection.
9. Collecting 1940s typewriters are a hobby for this American actor

Answer: Tom Hanks

A Hermes 2000 bought in 1978 started the collection. With over 200 such typewriters, Tom Hanks enjoys their distinct personalities when typing a letter, as well as hunting for more. They also have a supporting role in his first book "Uncommon Type" (2017), a collection of short stories. Watch the documentary movie "California Typewriter" (2017) if you want to see Hanks and other aficionados talk about their machines.
10. Police badges are this "Dragnet" (1987) and Canadian actor's thing

Answer: Dan Aykroyd

The comedy film "Dragnet" was a parody of the "Dragnet" TV series. Dan Aykroyd played Sgt. Joe Friday opposite Tom Hanks as Det. Pep Streebek in the film. Aykroyd also helped write the script.

Blues music, the paranormal, motorbikes and the law enforcement are listed as Dan Aykroyd's hobbies. The law enforcement part has included being a reserve deputy in a Sheriff's department, as well as collecting police badges. He likes to carry a police badge on him at all times.
