Insurance Anyone? Trivia Quiz

Fox Studio had Lloyd's of London fill out an insurance policy for her "million dollar" legs. I read that they were insured for both a million and a quarter of a million. Not sure which story was correct. Betty mentioned one time that, "There are two reasons why I am successful in show business and I am standing on both of them." She knew that her legs were something to be admired. Betty starred with both Marilyn and Lauren Bacall in the 1953 movie, "How to Marry a Millionaire". All three women were trying to find their millionaire men. Betty and Marilyn got swept off their feet by poor men, but Lauren hit the jackpot with a rich man, who she thought was poor.

Answer: Kate Jackson

Kate was born with beautiful legs back in 1948 in Birmingham, Alabama. She struck gold as one of Charlie's girls back in 1976 with Fawcett and Smith as the original three. Kate not only hit the jackpot with this series, but again hit it big at Mrs. Amanda King in the "Scarecrow and Mrs. King" television series.

Jennifer Lopez played the role of Mary Fiore in the movie "The Wedding Planner". When she danced with the doctor, her butt stuck way out there in that red dress. When asked about her pride and joy buns, she said, "I don't really check out other people's butts."
Jennifer and her buns were born in New York in 1970. She became popular when she played the role of Selena Quintanilla in the true story, "Selena". Prior to this, she played the role of Jack's teacher, Miss Marquez, in the movie "Jack" with Robin Williams.
When asked about the insurance on her bottom half, her agent responded with, "At this time we cannot confirm or deny this information." Well, there's something new!

Ann Miller's father wanted a boy, prompting the name "Johnnie". Ann Miller was known for her long beautiful legs. She danced her way into the movie, "Easter Parade" with Judy Garland and Fred Astaire in 1948. Her tap shoes are actually on exhibit at the Smithsonian Institution in Washington, DC.
Ann guest starred on "Home Improvement" in 1993, playing the role of Mrs. Keeney. She also guest starred on the lovable "The Love Boat" with Gavin MacLeod in 1982.

Answer: Dolly Parton

Dolly Parton was born in Tennessee back in 1946. Rumor has it that Dolly had her two major assets insured for a whopping $600,000.00. I really enjoy listening to Dolly talk, she can come up with the cutest one-liners. She's got a few great lines in "Best Little Whorehouse in Texas" with Burt Reynolds. She also talked her way in "Straight Talk" with James Woods.
Dolly makes jokes about her "major" assets and says that, "she has little feet, because nothing grows in the shade." She also said that she likes to buy clothes that are two sizes too small and then take them in a little."

Answer: Fred Astaire

Fred was born in Omaha, Nebraska in 1899. It's almost comical that Fred never picked up an Oscar for any of his dancing roles.

Answer: Liberace

Liberace was born in Wisconsin back in 1919. Liberace was definitely one flashy dude. You can visit the Liberace Museum in Las Vegas, Nevada and view quite a few of his prized possessions. I still remember watching him perform, playing and singing, "I'll Be Seeing You".
Liberace once remarked, "I didn't get dressed like this to go unnoticed." What a show off he was, but he deserved every dime he got!

Answer: Mary Hart

Mary Hart was born in 1950 in South Dakota. There must be something good in the water up in South Dakota to have a starlet like Mary! Mary has guest starred on the "Circus of the Stars" at least three times in the 80s. Mary first started hosting "Entertainment Tonight" in 1982. You just keep doing what you're doing Mary, those legs are priceless!

Answer: Bette Davis

Bette was born in Lowell, Massachusetts in 1908. I happened to stop in Lowell one time. They have the best coffee there that I have ever tasted. Bette has been nominated for Oscars in the 30s, 40s, 50s and 60s. She was nominated the last time for her role in "What Ever Happened to Baby Jane?" with Joan Crawford. Bette passed away in 1989 from breast cancer in France.

Answer: Ben Turpin

Ben took out a $20,000 policy against his eyes being uncrossed. He played the role of many cross-eyed people in his movies. He played the cross-eyed plumber in "Saps at Sea" and the cross-eyed man in "Make Me a Star". He was said to have started the entire "insurance" issue on body parts.
Many other celebrities have insured body parts at one time or another. Jimmy Durante insured his famous nose, Angie Dickinson insured her legs, even Bruce Springsteen insured his voice.
