The movie takes place at the pinnacle elevation of the Civil Rights Movement down South and a young black teen is killed for participating in a sit-down at the white area of the city pool. And, if this isn't enough crazy, Melanie's character snaps under the pressure of her husband's brutality and heads west to seek a Hollywood television role...with her husband's head in tow.
