Prince's full name is Prince Rogers Nelson. He was born on June 7 1958 in Minneapolis, Minnesota and is named after jazz artist Prince Rogers. His father John Nelson was a member of the Prince Rogers Trio.

Answer: Elton John

In the mid-sixties, Elton's stage name was Reg Dwight, but he didn't like his name. He didn't think it sounded too hip, so he decided to change it. In his band at the time (Bluesology), the saxophonist was called Elton Dean, and he really liked his name, so he took Elton from there.

He took the name John from Long John Baldry, a British Blues singer whom the band Bluesology was backing. He launched his first album, "Empty Sky", in 1969 under the name of Elton John. He officially changed his name to "Elton Hercules John" in 1974.

Vanilla Ice was born Robert Van Winkle on 31st October 1968 in Miami. His father left him when he was four years old, and since then has had many stepfathers. In his teenage years, he was a poor student who got dismal grades and skipped school often. He was 18 and in the 10th grade when he dropped out of school.

During the late 80s Ice made a living by washing cars. He observed the culture and dancing of some of his peers and later signed up at a local nightclub as a performer. He was a natural at rapping and dancing and needless to say, the audience loved him. He later got the nickname "Vanilla Ice" because he was white.

Meat Loaf was born in Texas and moved to Los Angeles in 1967 to play in local bands and appear in musicals such as "Hair". It is not known why he is called Meat Loaf , although he has told numerous contradictory "official" stories of how he chose his stage name. Despite his famous moniker, Marvin doesn't like to eat meatloaf and is a vegetarian.

His song "Two Out of Three Ain't Bad" was a hit in the late 70s. The album from which this song came was also a top seller.

She was born Eileen Regina Edwards but later took her stepfather's last name Twain. She changed her first name to Shania in 1990; it reputedly means "I'm on my way" in the Ojibway language.
