Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. What is the highest points hand you can have, without busting?

Answer: 21

Some casinos actually have a game where 6 cards is an automatic win, no matter what the points are, 21 or below.
2. There is no hand that can beat a three card 21.

Answer: False

Yes, the blackjack, which is two cards, ace and face card or ten, beats a 3 or more card 21.
3. What does insurance pay?

Answer: 2 to 1

You cannot make a profit on insurance, you can only protect your bet if the dealer has a blackjack.
4. You have a $10 bet placed. The dealer shows an ace and asks for insurance. What is the MOST insurance you can take?

Answer: $5

You may only bet 1/2 of your original bet (or less) on the insurance line.
5. How many 10 value cards are there in a six deck shoe?

Answer: 96

Each deck has 4 - 10's, 4 - J's, 4 - K's, and 4 - Q's. Therefore each deck has 16 face cards. 6 decks x 16 face cards = 96 cards with a value of 10.
6. You have a $25 bet placed and want to double down. The table limit is $25 to $500. What is the maxium bet you can place for the double down?

Answer: $25

You may only double down for the amount of your original bet or less. You may only double down for $25 on an original bet of $25.
7. You have chosen to double down. How many more cards may you receive?

Answer: 1

When you double down, you are betting that the next card will make your hand high enough to beat the dealer. You may only draw one card on a double down.
8. What is a "George"?

Answer: A big tipper

If you get called a George in a casino, consider it a compliment! You are a great tipper, so dealers will love dealing to you. You do not have to be a big money player to be considered a George. You just have to tip well!
9. What does it mean to "bust"?

Answer: Your card count goes over 21.

If you bust you go over 21, and the hand is over.
10. What is a "push"?

Answer: To tie hands with the dealer.

The dealer will usually tap the table beside your bet on a push. You don't win, and you don't lose. It's a tie.
