Uncle Theodore is played by the immortal Thurl Ravenscroft. Thurl's powerful voice is in abundant supply all over the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom parks. Besides the Mansion he can also be heard in Pirates of the Caribbean, It's A Small World, and the Country Bear Jamboree to name just a few.

Bluebeard is a fairy tale character famous for his many wives and their gruesome fates. Well, except for his last wife. But you'll have to read the story yourself to find out more.

Fantasyland is the home of the Haunted Mansion at Tokyo Disneyland. At Disneyland Paris, the Haunted Mansion (there it has been altered quite a bit and renamed Phantom Manor), graces Frontierland.

Answer: An animatronic ghost character in the attic that was later removed

The Hatbox Ghost was located where the Bride is now. The Bride was in a different part of the attic than she is now. With every beat of her heart, the Hatbox Ghost's head would disappear from his shoulders and then reappear in the hatbox he was carrying.

The effect did not work as well as hoped and was eventually removed from the Mansion very early on. The bride then was relocated to where he stood.

Answer: A hatchet

It is claimed that the picture is a depiction of none other than the Ghost Host himself.

Answer: A demon

A hideous demon head with a mouth full of fangs surrounds the clock face as if to eat it. The pendulum of the clock is shaped like his tail. There is a monster claw shadow that sweeps over the clock.

Answer: Wedding ring

Perhaps it belonged to the bride? In actuality this is the remains of a pole that used to stand on that spot. When it came time to removed it someone tried to use a screwdriver to pry it out of the ground. This did not entirely work. The screwdriver broke off as did bits of the bottom of the pole. This together unintentionally formed the remarkable likeness of a wedding ring.

Answer: Via the placement of a mirror

A mirror is situated behind the floating candelabra. The mirror reflects the candelabra and the room, giving it an "endless" look.

"Spooks come out for a swinging wake." The music of "Grim Grinning Ghosts" was composed by Buddy Baker.

Nope, this is not one of the parks famous "Hidden Mickeys." The Donald face is a bit abstract, but it's there.

Apparently some alcohol loving ghoul got a little too carried away with the mansions stock of "spirits". At Disneyland, you can see the actual liquid contents spilling out of the bottle next to the feet, but for some reason at the Magic Kingdom this detail is absent and only the empty bottle can be spotted.

Answer: Kurt Russell

Kurt was an active contract member of the Disney studios at the time. The episode mentioned is sometimes shown on the Disney Channel.

Answer: A man turning into a vegetable

Freaky idea, isn't it? Some other morphing painting ideas that were developed but later abandoned include a wife standing behind her husband who suddenly starts to strangle him, a portrait of Raspution who eyes become bigger and bigger until they file the whole picture and a plate of fresh fruit that morphs into a plate of rotten fruit.

The rumor also states that the trapped man was removed because it made the scene too scary for kids. The rumor as a whole has been denied by some.

The handles of some of the doors in the Mansion are shaped like dragons, a unicorn is depicted on a tapestry hanging behind the Bride in the attic, and the candelabras at the bottom of the staircases are carved into the likenesses of hippogriffs. There is a howling wolf in the graveyard, but he is of the normal four legged kind.

There are no cameras. Sensitive black pressure mats have been placed throughout the attraction. If someone leaves their ride vehicle they will step on one. This triggers an alarm.

Answer: If the ride stops

If the ride is halted for any reason, a safety spiel is played which tells you to stay in your "Doombuggies" because "playful spooks" have interrupted the tour.

Answer: Madame Leota

At one point narration done by Eleanor Audley, the voice of Madame Leota, was recorded to be used as your tour guide. The recording sessions were rather lackluster, and the idea was scrapped.

Answer: It was played backward by the real life musician, but is played normally (forward) in the attraction itself

It makes for an eerie and otherworldly sound. There is some debate if the music in use now is the backward recording, however.

Answer: Skeletal hands

The skeletal hands originally appeared in a concept drawing for the "Museum of the Weird", a proposed building you would be able to visit after you finished riding the Haunted Mansion. It was to have been filled with all sorts of bizarre artifacts and bizarre props all designed by the Disney Imagineers. But like Edison Square this never materialized. However, some of the Museums ideas like the skeletal torch bearing hands found a home in the Haunted Mansion.
