1. The 1943 "Batman" serial was released by Warner Brothers as a 15-part series that ran before longer films at movie theaters. Who was the big bad guy in the series?

Answer: Dr. Daka

Dr. Daka, played by J. Carroll Nash, was created for the serial. He was a prince of the Order of the Rising Sun and lived in the Little Tokyo area of Los Angeles.

Decades later the character was adapted into the comics, making his first appearance in 1985 in "All-Star Squadron" #42.

Answer: False

While "Batman Live" was a stage production, it was not a musical.

The stage play picked up with Bruce Wayne having been Batman for years. He had just started mentoring Dick Grayson, who did not yet know Bruce was also Batman.

Throughout the show Dick becomes Robin, and discovers who Batman is while fighting the likes of the Joker, Penguin and Poison Ivy.
3. "Batman and Robin" (1949) was another serial released in 15 parts. Who played the Dark Knight in this iteration?

Lowery picked up the role that had belonged to Wilson in the previous serial.

This serial saw the introduction of Robin, a new batmobile and the major villain was "Wizard," a character created specifically for the serial.

West also played the role in several live-action and animated incarnations after that on television. He was in the animated series "The Batman/Tarzan Adventure Hour", "Tarzan and the Super 7", "Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show" and "The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians."

In live-action television he was in "Legends of the Superheroes" and "Return to the Batcave".

Val Kilmer was an 80s movie legend, having appeared in several of the top box office and critically acclaimed films of the decade. By 1997, when "Batman Forever" was released, he was needed a boost for his career.

The movie was critically panned and it was more than a decade before he earned another major role.

The film did, however, earn more than $336 million at the international box office.

He was replaced by George Clooney for the next Batman film.
