Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. As a master of time, Kang has had many incarnations. Which of these aliases has he not used?

Answer: Chronoking

When Kang travelled back in time to Egypt, he assumed the guise of Rama-Tut, a pharaoh. When he first went to the 41st century, he became the Scarlet Centurion, and when he formed the Young Avengers he was Iron Lad, a teenaged version of himself. Immortus is a future version of Kang. Kang appeared as Rama-Tut in the nineteenth issue of "Fantastic Four" (1963).
2. In the Destiny War, whom did Kang battle?

Answer: Immortus

Immortus, a future version of Kang from one of an infinite number of divergent timelines, became a preserver of timelines rather than a destroyer of timelines. As an agent of the Time-Keepers, Immortus became immortal, but battled his younger self, who could not comprehend giving up his violent lifestyle.

The Destiny War was covered in the twelve-issue run of "Avengers Forever", a limited series than ran from 1998 to 2000.
3. Kang killed his son Marcus during the Kang dynasty.

Answer: True

Kang is one of the few villains who have actually been able to take over the world through physical force. When his rule was usurped by the Avengers, Kang was content to be defeated and die, leaving behind a legacy. His son saved him, however, and Kang killed him for ruining an ideal legacy. Marcus died in the 55th issue of "Avengers", dated August 2002.
4. What is Kang's real name?

Answer: Nathaniel Richards

Named after the father of Reed Richards, Nathaniel Richards grew up on a peaceful Earth. Bored, he occupied himself by studying warlike eras, such as Earth in the 20th and 21st centuries. He was born in the year 3000.
5. Which serious injury did the young Kang suffer?

Answer: His throat was slit

Bullied as a child, Kang was driven to desire power. When his throat was slit by a bully named Morgan, he was hospitalized and his family's considerable financial wealth went toward his medical bills.
6. Kang took over ancient Egypt for one decade. During this time he had a son. What was his name?

Answer: Ramades

During his ten-year reign, Kang brought woe to his enemies and subjugated his people. He was stopped by the combined efforts of the enemies he had made, the time-travelling Avengers, Doctor Strange, and En Sabah Nur, the mutant who would become Apocalypse. Kang began ruling Egypt as shown in "Fantastic Four" #19, dated 1967.
7. Kang took a romantic interest in Ravonna, a princess. Which kingdom did her father rule?

Answer: Carelia

Kang's love for Ravonna showed that even a villain could love another person. Besides, it gets lonely trying to conquer the world all by yourself! Kang's love for Ravonna was not confined to one timeline, however. Ravonna debuted in "Avengers" #23, in 1966.
8. Kang became the mayor of a small town in which American state?

Answer: Wisconsin

Timely, Wisconsin was created by Victor Timely, a turn-of-the-century guise for Kang. When Timely "died", his son became mayor, and this continued for a number of years. Of course, all these Timelys were actually Kang in disguise.
9. Who inspired Kang to take the identity of the Scarlet Centurion?

Answer: Doctor Doom

Doctor Doom has been a longtime adversary of the Fantastic Four, and a fellow student of Reed Richards', otherwise known as Mister Fantastic. He rules the European country of Latveria, and is clad in armor. Doom first appeared in 1962, in the fifth issue of "The Fantastic Four".
10. Kang once tried to take over Camelot. Who thwarted his plans?

Answer: The Thing and the Human Torch

Kang has attempted to take over many different eras of Earth. His rule of ancient Egypt lasted for ten years before the Avengers and Doctor Strange helped the Egyptians revolt, and his attempt to rule Camelot was beaten by the Thing and the Human Torch. Kang's rule of Camelot was chronicled in "Strange Tales" #134.
