In that same year, Renee Zellweger also played the role of Irene Waters in "Me, Myself & Irene" co-starring Jim Carrey.

Dana Delany played nurse Colleen McMurphy on "China Beach" from 1988 through 1991. This was one of the few tv shows to portray the Vietnam War from the viewpoint of an American Base and, while it played down the battle scenes, it showed how the tragedy of war affected all those who served in it. Marg Helgenberger co-starred as K.C. Kowalski, with Michael Boatman as Pvt. Samuel Beckett (no, NOT Dr. Sam Beckett from "Quantum Leap" 1989-1993).
