Various Hanna-Barbera cartoons ran under the title "Super Friends" between 1973 and 1986 ("Super Friends", "The All-New Super Friends Hour", "Challenge of the Super Friends", "The World's Greatest Super Friends", "Super Friends: The Legendary Super Powers Show", and "The Super Powers Team: Galactic Guardians"). Danny Dark (1938-2004) was a well-known voice actor in television and commercials.

He also worked as a narrator for A&E's "Biography" series.
2. Smallville (2001-2011)

"Smallville" aired on first on the WB and then the CW for 218 episodes. Tom Welling portrayed Superman on the show, which tells the story of Superman before he was Superman, focusing on the story of Clark Kent/Kal El growing up in rural Kansas. Tom Welling, born in 1977, also appeared in "Cheaper by the Dozen" (2003) and "The Fog" (2005).
3. The Adventures of Superman (1940-51)

During the course of its run, "The Adventures of Superman" began as a fifteen minute show and expanded to a half hour. It also varied between two, three, and five days a week, running for over 2,000 episodes. Kryptonite was actually introduced first in the Superman universe in a 1943 episode of the radio show.

"It's a Bird...It's a Plane..."It's Superman" represents an attempt to adapt the Superman Universe to the Broadway stage. In the movie serials, the scenes of Superman flying were animated as the technology of the time ddi not allow for a live action actor flying to look believable. "Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice" starred Henry Cavill as Superman, Ben Affleck as Batman, and Gal Gadot as Wonder Woman. Henry Cavill previous appeared as Superman in "Man of Steel" (2013). Henry Cavill also appeared in "The Man From UNCLE" (2015) and the television show "The Tudors" (2007-2010).
9. "The Adventures of Superman" (1952-1958)

The first two seasons of "The Adventures of Superman" (episodes 1-52) were filmed in black and white. The final four seasons (episodes 53-104) were filmed in color. The greater cost of filming in color reduced the number of new episodes in later seasons.

Tim Daly, born in 1956, may be best known for appearing in the long-running television show "Wings" (1990-1997).
