"Batman" was a fifteen-chapter movie serial set during World War Two. In the serial Batman tries to stop the plot of Dr. Daka, a Japanese secret agent. Re-screenings of the serial in the 1960s helped to stir up interest in a Batman television show. Lewis Wilson (1920-2000) is generally considered to have been more successful in his portrayal of Bruce Wayne than Batman. Wilson was a film actor in the 1940s and 1950s and later worked for the General Foods Corporation.
2. Batman and Robin (1949 movie serial)

"Batman and Robin" was another fifteen-chapter serial. The heroes face off against the hooded "Wizard" who controls a mysterious electronic device. The low budget of the serial creates unintentional humor from the technical flaws of the movie. Robert Lowery (1913-1971) had a varied career in television and movies.

As a young man, Lowery had played on the Kansas City Blues minor league baseball team.
3. Batman (1966-68 TV series)

"Batman" broadcast for 120 episodes for three seasons. For the first two seasons, the usual format was to have two half-hour episodes a week on consecutive nights. Adam West (born 1928) had appeared in a variety of movies before "Batman". 5. Batman Live (2011-2012 touring stage show)

7. Lego Batman: The Video Game (2008)

10. Super Friends (1973-1983)

"Super Friends" in its various incarnations was produced by Hanna-Barbera. Olan Soule (1909-1994) had a long career in radio, television, and movies. Although Adam West replaced him as the voice of Batman in the last two seasons of Super Friends (1984-1986), he then voiced Martin Stein, who was one of two people to fuse into superhero Firestorm.
