The show was produced by Hanna-Barbera and first screened in 1962. At the time, only 24 episodes were made, but further seasons were created in the 80s. The characters of George and Jane, children Judy and Elroy, family maid Rosie and dog Astro became firm favourites with the public and the theme song is instantly recognisable.
3. 62 West Wallaby Street, Wigan

Wallace lives with his dog Gromit and the show centres around their everyday life, with a few little adventures along the way. Gromit is the more intelligent of the pair and graduated from Dogwart's University. Wallace has several small jobs but is an inventor at heart, although his 'inventions' don't usually work very well.

Rather than being drawn and animated, the characters are modelled from plasticine and filmed using a stop motion technique. Four short movies and a feature film were released first from 1989 and the popular 'Shaun the Sheep' was a successful spin-off. Created by Nick Parks, 'Wallace and Gromit' and 'Shaun the Sheep' have been nominated for a total of six Academy Awards, winning three of them.

Until then he has no idea of his magical ability.

The series of seven novels created by J.K Rowling follow Harry through his journey of discovery of the magical world and the battle to rid that world of the evil Lord Voldemort.
