Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. In "Breakfast At Tiffany's" what did Holly Golightly call her bouts of anxiety?

Answer: the mean reds

Holly described "the mean reds" as a feeling of being afraid, yet not knowing what you are afraid of. She said "the blues are because you're getting fat, and maybe it's been raining too long."
2. Orangey, who portrayed "Cat" in "Breakfast At Tiffany's" and described by Holly as a "poor slob without a name", was actually a team of thirty-six cats.

Answer: True

True. It's common for animals to work under a group name which is credited and awarded as one. Orangey's trainer, Frank Inn, found that one cat could only master a couple of tricks. He trained a crew of look-alikes, each cat specializing in a certain talent or two.
3. The character Magenta in "The Rocky Horror Picture Show", known for her gold a top hat, tailcoat, and rainbow-striped shorts, was Dr. Frank N. Furter's devoted wife.

Answer: False

Magenta was Frank's maid and the sister of Riff Raff the "handyman" from the planet Transsexual. Columbia, a human member of Frank's entourage, tap danced (or at least attempted to) in her sequined outfit!
4. What color did the Narrator's boss want his icon to be in "Fight Club"?

Answer: cornflower blue

Cornflower blue is a defined color in the X Window (X11) color scheme. During a business meeting scene from the movie, Walter (Davis Lee Smith) gave a sales pitch and directed his comments to the Narrator (Ed Norton) who responded by displaying a wide, bloody, toothy grin! "Fight Club" was one of the most controversial and talked-about films of the 1990s and in 2003 was listed as one of the "50 Best Guy Movies of All Time" by "Men's Journal".
5. What "scandalously sweet" subject did the Rolling Stones sing the praises of on their 1971 "Sticky Fingers" album?

Answer: Brown Sugar

The lyrics of "Brown Sugar" have often been a subject of interest and controversy. In a 1995 interview with Rolling Stone Mick stated "It's such a mishmash. All the nasty subjects in one go". Mick Jagger also said he could never write that now because he would censor himself. I guess fatherhood mellowed Mick!
6. What color was the wafer advertised to contain "high-energy plankton" and produced by the Soylent Corporation?

Answer: green

"Soylent Green" was a 1973 science fiction film, which took place in 2022. Charleton Heston portrayed NYC police detective Robert Thorn. Twentieth century industrialization was responsible for the polluted and overcrowded state of the world. Thanks to Det. Thorn we discovered the unfortunate truth behind the Soylent Corporation's "nutritious and palatable" Soylent Green.
7. Which hero demonstrated Ajax Laundry Detergent to be "stronger than dirt"?

Answer: White Knight

The White Knight would charge by on his magnificent white steed, point his lance and immediately your dirtiest laundry was once again pearly white!
8. In 1984, what did "The Boss" say had crushed velvet seats and was the only car that would do?

Answer: Pink Cadillac

"Pink Cadillac" was featured on the B-side of Bruce Springsteen's "Dancing on the Dark".
9. In the "I Love Lucy" episode entitled "Lucy Tells the Truth", what color did Lucy Ricardo say her hair would be if she didn't dye it?

Answer: mousy brown

Lucy wagered that she could refrain from lying for day. Not an easy feat with friends like Carolyn Appleby! She admitted her real age, weight and hair color to the delight of the other ladies.
10. In the late 1960s and through the 1970s, what NFL team was renowned for their defensive line known as the Purple People Eaters?

Answer: Minnesota Vikings

The term was a reference to a popular song from 1958, the superb efficiency of the defense, and the color of their uniforms. The motto of the Purple People Eaters was "Meet at the quarterback". They were also known as the Purple Gang.
