Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Our first 'number two', the inspiration for this quiz, is... well, he's simply known as Number Two. He is played primarily by Robert Wagner. Who does Number Two work for?

Answer: Dr. Evil

Robert Wagner played Number Two, Dr. Evil's second-in-command, in the "Austin Powers" film trilogy. Based somewhat on Emilio Largo, a villain from the James Bond film "Thunderball" (1965), Number Two is characterized by his eye patch and his desire to move Dr. Evil's empire into legitimate businesses, such as investing in Starbucks.

In the second film, "Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me" (1999), the main characters went back in time to 1969, and the younger Number Two was played by Rob Lowe. An even younger Number Two was played briefly by Evan Farmer, in a flashback to when Dr. Evil and Austin Powers were in school, shown in "Austin Powers in Goldmember" (2002).
2. Two henchmen known as Bebop and Rocksteady support which of these television cartoon villains?

Answer: Shredder (Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles)

Shredder is the main enemy of the Ninja Turtles and their sensei, Splinter. In the animated television series, "Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles", which debuted in 1987 and lasted ten seasons, Shredder was aligned with the super-villain Krang (who needs helpers because he is just a brain, no body) and had two henchmen called Bebop and Rocksteady, who were on the show up until the end of the eighth season. Bebop and Rocksteady were large and strong, but tended to mess up their duties often.
3. In the 1978 movie "Grease", Kenickie asked Danny to be his 'second', to support him and take over in case anything happened to him. For what event did Danny have to step in for Kenickie?

Answer: Car race

For most of the film, the relationship between Danny and Kenickie was reversed - Danny was the leader of the T-Birds, and Kenickie was more like a sidekick. Kenickie, however, had bought a car that he wanted to race at Thunder Road against a rival gang leader, and asked Danny if he would be his 'second' at the race. Right before the race, Kenickie was hit with a car door while he was bending over to pick up a lucky penny, and couldn't race. Danny had to drive Greased Lightning to beat the leader of the Scorpions gang, and won.
4. In the "Transformers" world, who might be considered Megatron's number two guy?

Answer: Starscream

In "Transformers" (the animated television show, live-action movies, comics, etc.), Megatron is the leader of the bad guys, the Decepticons. Wheeljack, Ironhide and Sideswipe are all Autobots (good guys), so the only one that could be Megatron's right-hand man in Starscream. Starscream is usually portrayed as a smart but often cowardly Decepticon, who has ambitions of usurping Megatron and leading the Decepticons, and in fact has been a de facto leader of the group, such as at times when Megatron was thought to be dead or incapacitated.

Despite knowing Starscream's ulterior motives, Megatron values him as a member of the Decepticons and keeps him around, though is not always pleased with Starscream's actions; Megatron is known for yelling the phrase "You've failed me yet again, Starscream!"
5. In "Peter Pan", what is the name of Captain Hook's first mate?

Answer: Smee

Smee's official role on Captain Hook's ship actually varies in different media. In the original play by J.M. Barrie, he is referred to as Hook's right-hand man (though later actually called "left-hand man", due to Hook's missing hand); he is the bo'sun in the J.M. Barrie's novelization; he is called first mate in most later Disney books; he is referred to as the cook in other Disney books; and in the Disney film he is apparently neither the cook nor the first mate, as the character refers to other pirates as both of these things.

In any case, Smee is usually by Captain Hook's side doing his bidding, though he is, in most representations, a much more light-hearted character than Hook himself.
6. Who recorded and performed with Will Smith in the late '80s/early '90s, when he went by the rapper name The Fresh Prince?

Answer: DJ Jazzy Jeff

Will Smith and Jeffrey Townes met in 1985 and began recording together under the names DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince. They recorded a few albums and produced some hit singles such as "Girls Ain't Nothing But Trouble"(1986) and "Parents Just Don't Understand"(1988), the latter of which won the first Grammy for a rap song, in 1989. Townes and Smith stopped performing together as DJ Jazzy Jeff & The Fresh Prince in the mid-'90s, when Smith's career as a serious actor began to take off.

They still worked together, however, with Townes working on several of Will Smith's songs and albums as a solo artist. And yes, DJ Jazzy Jeff is the same Jazz who was Will's friend on "The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air".
7. When the American version of the television show "The Office" first started, who in the office held the position of 'assistant TO the regional manager'?

Answer: Dwight Schrute

Dwight Schrute is really just a salesman at Dunder-Mifflin Paper Company, but from the beginning, he was often manager Michael Scott's right-hand man. Dwight is sometimes too ambitious for his own good, and to keep him happy, Michael created the position of "assistant to the regional manager" for Dwight, though Dwight often tried to tell other people he was simply the "assistant regional manager".

At times when Michael was away, Dwight has tried to invoke his non-powers and has tried to get permission to fire people and control the other office workers in other ways.
8. Who was the shirtless assistant weekend trailer park supervisor on the Canadian show "Trailer Park Boys"?

Answer: Randy

Randy, portrayed on the show and in the feature-length films by Patrick Roach, was referred to in various episodes as 'assistant trailer park supervisor', 'weekend park supervisor' and 'assistant weekend trailer park supervisor'. Mostly what this means is that he drives around Sunnyvale Trailer Park with the park supervisor, Jim Lahey, creating havoc for the main characters, mixing drinks, as Jim is an alcoholic and sometimes trying to evict people. Randy is also Lahey's lover, as well the lover of Lahey's ex-wife Barb for a short while.

Some of Randy's trademark characteristics include very rarely wearing a shirt (and never willingly), eating cheeseburgers, and taking his pants off to fight people.
9. Dr. John Watson is well-known for assisting the literary character Sherlock Holmes to solve mysteries. Who played Dr. Watson in the 2009 movie "Sherlock Holmes"?

Answer: Jude Law

In the 2009 film directed by Guy Ritchie, Robert Downey, Jr. played the famous detective Sherlock Holmes, and Jude Law played his assistant, Watson, characters created by Sir Arthur Conan Doyle. In this movie, Holmes and Watson worked to stop the evil Lord Blackwood and his series of seemingly magical evil acts.

As hinted at the end of the film, a sequel will follow in which the duo face Holmes' most well-known enemy, Professor Moriarty.
10. In the video game world, who is the sidekick of Sonic the Hedgehog?

Answer: Tails

Tails, the nickname of video game character Miles Prower (miles-per-hour, get it?), first appeared in the 1992 game "Sonic the Hedgehog 2" (8-bit version), and in many games thereafter, including "Sonic" games in which players could choose to play as Tails instead of as Sonic. Tails has also appeared in some of his own games, including "Tails Adventure"(1995) and Tails' Skypatrol"(1995), both for the Sega Game Gear. Tails is a fox, characterized by his double tail, his yellowy-orange fur and his mechanic ability.

He is not as fast as Sonic, but has the ability to 'fly' by using his tails like a helicopter rotor.
