Answer: stick insect

The stick insect is the longest insect in the world. The females are longer than the males measuring 33 cm (13 inches) from head to the tip of the abdomen.
2. What is the largest tree-dwelling mammal?

Answer: orang-utan

The female orang-utan can grow in height to 4 foot 2 inches and they can weigh around 45 kg. Adult male orang-utans can reach 5 foot 9 inches and weigh 118 kg.
3. What is one of the rarest Crocodilians in the world?

Answer: Chinese alligator

The Chinese alligator used to live in China but its numbers have now been reduced. They now live in small ponds with only a few Chinese alligators left. Their numbers have been reduced due to habitat loss - a lot of their former living space is now used for agriculture.
4. What is the largest snail in the world?

Answer: African giant snail

African giant snails can grow to 20 centimetres long. They can weigh up to 900 grams.
5. What is the largest butterfly in the world?

Answer: Queen Alexandra's birdwing

Female Queen Alexandra's birdwings are bigger than the males with a wingspan of 31 cm (14 inches). It has a body length of up to 8 cm (3.2 inches) and can weigh up to 12 grams (0.42 oz). Queen Alexandra's birdwing was named in honour of Queen Alexandra in 1907 by Lord Walter Rothschild.
6. What is the most poisonous animal in the world?

Answer: poison dart frog

Poison dart frogs contain a toxin that the native people living in the same areas as the frogs can use to add poison to the tips of their arrows (or darts) for hunting.

Skunks are known for their ability to release foul-smelling odours. Skunks have smells that are described as a mixture of rotten eggs, garlic and burnt rubber. The smell itself is very strong and can be used to ward off attackers.

Male red kangaroos can grow up to 1.8 metres (6 feet) and weigh up to 170 lbs. Females can grow up to 1.1 metres (3.6 feet) tall and weigh up to 77 lbs. Tails can be up to 1 metre (3 feet) long.
9. What is the most venomous land-based snake in the world?

Answer: inland taipan

The inland taipan is the most venomous snake on land. It is also called the small-scaled snake and fierce snake. It lives in Australia. The venom from one bite of an inland taipan is powerful enough to kill up to 100 people or 250,000 mice.
10. What is the slimmest (relative to its size) lizard in the world?

Answer: Papua monitor

The Papua monitor can reach up to 244 centimetres (2.44 metres) in length. Much of this length is in its tail, which is longer than its body. Papua monitors are 45 centimetres at birth.
