"Dragons: Riders of Berk" Episode 1 Quiz

This episode introduces Mildew and his pet sheep Fungus. You see them throughout the series trying to get rid of the dragons on Berk. They don't explain why Mildew can't stand the dragons being on Berk, but he is constantly trying to make Stoick send the dragons away from Berk.

Answer: Hiccup

While Stoick and Gobber were talking about what to do about the dragons, Stoick actually says they could put signs up. And Gobber says "Signs, for dragons"? And Stoick says "No, signs for Vikings". Gobber then says that they have never been too big on reading. And then Stoick says they could put up nets and Gobber says "You know they breathe fire". That's when Hiccup and Toothless walk in and Hiccup says he's the man for the job. And Stoick tells him he's not quite a man yet.

Answer: There was a Gronckle chasing them through the town.

Among the many things you see the dragons do, you also see a Deadly Nader trying to steal a basket of bread from a lady, a Monstrous Nightmare and a Deadly Nader fighting, and sheep running away, one on fire. Hiccup tells Toothless to stop the two dragons fighting, while he put the fire on the sheep out. Even though he has a little trouble doing this, the other riders watch from a high spot in town, and he finally gets the fire put out on the sheep.

Answer: False

Hiccup actually says "I'll be seeing flaming sheep in my dreams for a month". This was after he had been trying to put out the fire on the sheep he was trying to help in town earlier that day.

Answer: He drops the bread and puts Snotlout in his mouth.

Hiccup explains the dragons are taking things, like food that they shouldn't. He shows the other riders, when he gives Toothless a piece of bread. If you scratch the dragon on their chin, they will drop what they have in their mouth. Although you see Hookfang accidentally setting Snotlout on fire in several episodes, in this episode he basically bites Snotlout and keeps him in his mouth for a minute. Snotlout is strict with Hookfang but Hookfang doesn't pay attention too well to Snotlout yelling at him, telling him what to do sometimes.

Answer: The riders' dragons, including Toothless, ate everything they had stored for the freeze.

When they got back they found out that their dragons had eaten the fish they had stored, burned down the barn where they kept the fish and simply made a big mess. Hiccup tells Stoick to give him a chance and Stoick tells him "How can I trust you to control the dragons, when you can't even control your own". And you see Toothless eating some fish out of a basket.

Answer: Mildew

Without knowing it, Mildew told Hiccup this when he was saying he would miss Toothless. The dragons were supposed to be caged that night and then sent from Berk the next morning. Right before this, you hear the dragon riders talk about how they will miss their dragons, including Fishlegs saying that Meatlug licks his feet everynight, and that if she wasn't there who would do it. Tuffnut volunteers Ruffnut to do it. Hiccup later tells Mildew thank you for telling him that, because it made him realize they have to use the dragons the way dragons naturally are. And have them help do the tasks they need done around the town. So the dragons still get to do what they do but in a more helpful way.

Answer: Snotlout

Snotlout says it felt like something was tearing at his chest and Astrid told him that's how you know that your heart is breaking. He said it to Astrid after they told their dragons goodbye and made them go into the cages. Right after that Hiccup tells them not to put their dragons into the cages.

He's figured out a way to get the dragons to listen and not mess up everything in town. Hiccup said they couldn't stop the dragons from doing what they do, because it was their nature. They had to learn how to use that, to have the dragons be helpful and not make such a mess.

Answer: They had the dragons help with things like fishing, fertilizing crops and herding livestock.

Snotlout and Hookfang helped Mulch and Bucket with fishing by flying into the water and herding fish into the fishing nets. Stormfly flew over Mildew's garden and used her tail spikes to till the dirt, followed by Hiccup and Toothless, who flew by and dropped seeds into the tilled dirt. And solving the 3:00 problem of the dragons using the bathroom in town and on everything, Meatlug, Fishlegs and the other gronckles fly over Mildew's garden and fertilize it, by using the bathroom on it. Hiccup tells Mildew to smile because they just saved him three months of work. And Ruffnut, Tuffnut, Barf and Belch herd livestock with Hiccup and Toothless, to herd them back to where they were supposed to go.

Answer: He gives them the Dragon Training Academy to train dragons.

Stoick at first looked upset that they hadn't listened to him and caged the dragons. But then Gobber upsets him by telling the riders that he's giving them a Dragon Training Academy. Then Stoick gets upset and tells Gobber he ruined it, that he wanted to tell them. And Gobber tell Stoick that he could tell them the part about how proud he is of them.
