Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Ponies are not born with a cutie mark on their flank. When a pony discovers her/his special talent, their cutie mark appears. Which pony's cutie mark is three balloons?

Answer: Pinkie Pie

Pinkie Pie is the party pony. She loves throwing parties and being with her friends. She represents the element of Laughter, and loves making her friends happy. Pinkie's cutie mark is three party balloons, two blue and one yellow.

Rarity's cutie mark is three blue diamonds, Fluttershy's cutie mark is three pink butterflies, and Rainbow Dash's cutie mark is a rainbow coloured lightning bolt.
2. Ponies in Equestria are diverse and unique characters. They all have different personalities, interests, and talents, and thus, different jobs. Which pony makes stylish clothes at the Carousel Boutique?

Answer: Rarity

Rarity's passion is fashion. She loves all things glamorous and enjoys being a part of high society. She has a knack for putting together unique and stunning outfits for any occasion, and runs her own dress shop, the Carousel Boutique.
3. Which pony lives in Ponyville's library?

Answer: Twilight Sparkle

Twilight Sparkle initially traveled from Canterlot to Ponyville to oversee the preparations for the Summer Sun Celebration. For her stay, she was given a place at the local library. When Twilight decided to stay, the library became her permanent residence.
4. Which two ponies of the Mane Six knew each other before moving to Ponyville?

Answer: Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash

Fluttershy and Rainbow Dash are the two pegasi of the Mane Six. They both lived in Cloudsdale when they were fillies. Rainbow Dash defended Fluttershy when she was being bullied for not being a strong flier ("The Cutie Mark Chronicles", season 1, episode 23).

Cloudsdale is a city in the sky that only pegasi can get to (only pegasi can stand on clouds). It is where most pegasi learn how to fly, and where the weather is created. It has facilities for creating rainbows, snowflakes, and more.
5. Which pony of the Mane Six lives and works on a farm?

Answer: Applejack

Applejack, along with most of the Apple family, is an apple farmer. She is known for her apple bucking skills (kicking trees to shake apples out) and for managing the farm's business. Applejack lives with her big brother, Big McIntosh, her little sister, Apple Bloom, and her grandmother, Granny Smith.

Pinkie Pie also grew up on a farm. A rock farm. It was dull, and did not hold Pinkie Pie's interest for long.
6. Whose job is it to regulate the weather in Ponyville?

Answer: Rainbow Dash

Pegasi have the unique ability to stand on clouds and affect the weather. They are often in charge of regulating the weather across Equestria. In Ponyville, Rainbow Dash is the head pegasus.

When Twilight Sparkle first arrived in Ponyville, she saw the sky still filled with clouds. The weather had to be perfect for the Summer Sun Celebration. Rainbow Dash boasted that she could clear the skies in ten seconds flat. Twilight was skeptical, and challenged Rainbow Dash to prove it. Rainbow Dash DID, and Twlight was left slack-jawed.
7. The Cutie Mark Crusaders are young ponies who have yet to get their cutie marks. Which two fillies are frequently seen harassing the Cutie Mark Crusaders?

Answer: Diamond Tiara and Silver Spoon

Diamond Tiara and Silverspoon are the wealthy and entitled ponies in school (Diamond Tiara's father is even named Filthy Rich). They are obsessed with being at the top of their social ladder, usually to the detriment of their classmates. The Cutie Mark Crusaders' insecurity about their lack of cutie marks make them prime targets for Diamond Tiara's manipulative ploys.

Shining Armor is Twilight Sparkle's brother, who marries Princess Cadence in "A Canterlot Wedding" (season 2 finale). Pound Cake and Pumpkin Cake are the newborns of Carrot Cake and Cup Cake, whom Pinkie babysits (foal-sits). Flim and Flam are brothers and traveling salesponies that seem to cause Applejack grief whenever they show up.
8. Who is Rainbow Dash's literary idol?

Answer: Daring Do

Daring Do is the heroine of a book series written by A.K. Yearling. She is a pegasus archeologist, and has to frequently content with the evil Ahuizotl. Rainbow Dash instantly identifies with the brave and adventurous pegasus (Daring Do is even a recolouring of Rainbow Dash's design), and becomes obsessed with the series (once even nearly trading away Fluttershy for a first edition of the first book).
9. Which secondary character only speaks in rhymes?

Answer: Zecora, the zebra

Zecora is a well-traveled and experienced pony. Initially, the ponies of Ponyville were afraid of Zecora, thinking she was spooky and mysterious. They even commented on her weird colouring, but Twilight Sparkle explained to the Mane Six that Zecora is naturally that way because she is a zebra.

Zecora's house is in the Everfree Forest, and she is a master of potions and elixirs. She would travel to Ponyville for supplies, but when she got to town, everyone would close up and hide. Once the Ponyville residents got over their initial mistrust and actually met Zecora, they found that she was just as pleasant and nice as any other pony.

Princess Luna, initially at least, spoke with the "Royal Canterlot Voice." This did not put Ponyville residents at ease, especially after a millennium of being afraid of Nightmare Moon. Most of Big Mac's lines are "Eeyup," and, "nnope."
10. Which pony possessed the infamous power of "The Stare"?

Answer: Fluttershy

Fluttershy is usually quiet and reserved. She prefers to avoid confrontations, and will try to coerce her animal friends into doing what she'd like. Sometimes, though, asking nicely is not enough, especially when there is danger about. For these scenarios, Fluttershy has "The Stare".

"The Stare" is an intense glare that Fluttershy can give any creature, and compel it to submit to her wishes. It was first seen in "Stare Master" (season 1, episode 17), when she got her chickens to go to sleep. She later used it to out-stare a cockatrice - which uses its own stare to turn other creatures into stone!
