In the movie, Vernon Dursley was having a meeting with one of his customers, and Harry was instructed to "Make no noise and pretend he didn't exist." He went up to his room to find Dobby the house elf on his bed. Dobby told Harry, "Harry Potter must not return to Hogwarts!" Harry ignored him, and went back to Hogwarts and his friends.

Harry and Ron ran at the entrance to the platform, but the entrance had closed, and they crashed into the barrier. Harry suggested that they go wait for Mr and Mrs Weasley to go out to the car, but Ron got the brilliant idea of just flying the car to Hogwarts. They almost got expelled, and Ron got a howler from his mother.

After attempting to land the car, it crashed into a whomping willow. During the sequence of events that led to the car being destroyed, Ron broke his wand. In the movie, he exclaimed, My wand, look at my wand!" They eventually got out of the tree and the car threw them out. They almost got expelled, but luckily for them, McGonagall took it easy on them and gave them a warning.

Gilderoy Lockhart is well known for his (supposedly) autobiographical books on defending himself against the dark arts, and certain spells and ways to do things. He was selling his "Magical Me" book when Harry went into "Flourish and Blotts to buy his books.

He has also won "Witch weekly's" Most Charming Smile award five times. Molly Weasley and Hermione Granger love his work. Unfortunately, he is a fraud, and stole his ideas from other great wizards. In the fifth book, Harry, Ron, and Hermione meet him in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.

Answer: rogue bludger

During his Quidditch match, Dobby cursed the bludger to go after only Harry, so that he would be injured and want to return home. In the movie, Ron pulled out his wand wanting to stop it, but Hermione reminded him that his wand was broken, and that it was a moving object circling Harry. After the quidditch match, they went down to the field and destroyed the bludger.

Answer: The Hogwarts hospital wing

During the Quidditch match, the bludger hit Harry in the hand, breaking his wrist. When the match ended, Professor Lockhart tried to use the spell "brackium emendo" to heal it, which took away his bones. Harry then had to go to the Hospital Wing to regrow his bones. He had to stay overnight. During that time, Colin Creevey was petrified, and also brought to the hospital wing.

Ron cast the "eat slugs" curse at Draco, but (since his wand was broken), it rebounded, and hit him instead. They went to Hagrid, and he gave Ron a bucket to barf the slugs into.

Tom Riddle preserved his fifteen year old self in his diary, knowing that one day it would bring him back to power. Malfoy slipped it into Ginny's bag, and she became attached to it. It took her over, and she opened the Chamber of Secrets. She tried to get rid of it, but she couldn't.

Harry heard a voice that no one else could hear. He followed it to find Mrs. Norris petrified. There was writing on the wall that said, "The Chamber of Secrets has been opened. Enemies of the heir... beware." The second message they received was "Her skeleton will lye in the Chamber forever", "Her" referring to Ginny Weasley.

It turns out that Lockhart interviewed great wizards, wrote down their greatest works, and wiped their memories, so that he could get all of the glory for doing them. At the end of the book, he got a taste of his own medicine by having his memory charm rebel, because he used Ron's broken wand. He then spent the rest of his life in St. Mungo's Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injuries.
