Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. One of the main characters is Iggle Piggle but what colour is he?

Answer: Blue

Iggle Piggle resembles a teddy bear and he tends to fall flat on his back when surprised. He is very energetic but often in need of reassurance and comfort which is why he carries a red blanket with him.
2. How does Iggle Piggle travel to the night garden?

Answer: Boat

During each episode, Iggle Piggle arrives and leaves the night garden in a boat. His red blanket doubles as a sail. He always sleeps in his boat and never in the night garden.
3. What is the name of Iggle Piggle's best friend?

Answer: Upsy Daisy

Upsy Daisy is a very happy doll and likes nothing more than dancing in the night garden. Upsy Daisy has her own bed which can move around the garden and sometimes she has to catch it before it runs away.
4. Which characters in the garden resemble giant, squashy pillows?

Answer: Haahoos

The Haahoos are five enormous pillowy creatures with smiling faces who move around the garden...boing, boing, boing! They always fall asleep together in a huddle.
5. What are the names of the three Tombliboos?

Answer: Unn, Ooo and Eee

The Tombliboos live in a bush home and they enjoy banging their drums, playing the piano or stacking building blocks. Sometimes their trousers fall down unexpectedly!
6. What colour are the Pontipines and the Wottingers?

Answer: Red and blue

The Pontipines and Wottingers are two families of tiny wooden peg creatures who live next door to each other at the foot of a tree. Mr Pontipine's moustache has an unfortunate habit of flying off his face!
7. Makka Pakka is a small creature who lives in a cave. What does he like collecting?

Answer: Stones

Makka Pakka likes pushing his trolley, the Og-Pog, around the garden. The Og-Pog carries Makka Pakka's sponge and soap for cleaning stones and a machine called Uff-Uff which is used to dry the stones after washing. Makka-Pakka sleeps in a stone bed and takes a favourite stone to bed with him each night.
8. Buckle yourselves in tightly as we are now going to take a tour around the garden in the Ninky Nonk. What sort of transport is this?

Answer: Train

The Ninky Nonk is a brightly coloured train with five different shaped carriages. The Tombliboos, the Pontipines, Upsy Daisy and Iggle Piggle have their own carriage but you can often see them travelling together. The train can travel upside down along branches, and when it stops or starts, the passengers jerk suddenly in their seats.
9. And now we're going to take to the skies for an aerial view of the garden in the Pinky Ponk. What sort of transport is this?

Answer: Airship

The Pinky Ponk is a strange looking airship with a big pink nose, covered with lots of fins over the main body and a large propeller at the back. When you travel on the Pinky Ponk you are allowed to have a glass of Pinky Ponk juice out of a 'sippi cup'. The Pinky Ponk makes a lot of flatulent noises when it releases air!
10. Now that we have finished our tour of the night garden, the Tittifers start singing which signals it is time to go where?

Answer: Bed

The Tittifers are tropical birds and when they sing together it is time to go to bed.

"The night is black,
And the stars are bright,
And the sea is dark and deep.

And someone I know is safe
And snug, and the're drifting
Off to sleep.

Round and round, a little boat no bigger
Than you're hand, out on the ocean, far away from land.

Take the little sail down,
Light the little light.
This is the way to the
Garden of the night."
