Ice cream cakes can be made entirely of ice cream, or they can be made of a cake base with an ice cream layer on top, such as the one in the image. The ganache that it refers to is a mixture of cream and dark chocolate, which can be used either as a paste to separate layers in a cake or as a glaze on the outside, depending on the ratio of cream to chocolate.

While all of these are seeds that are used in cooking, only the sesame seeds could be described as small and white. The cakes in the picture are made from a dough that has been sweetened with honey. The pictured wedding cakes are somewhat unusual in that there are several small ones rather than one large one. Sometimes there are figures on the top of a wedding cake, representing the bride and groom. The ritual cutting of the cake by the happy couple is often a highlight of the wedding reception.

The macadamia nut originated in northeastern Australia, Indonesia and New Caledonia. The nuts were named after John Macadam, a friend of the scientist who first categorized them. Macadamia seeds were exported to Hawaii in 1882, but macadamia production did not really take off until the 1920s. One of the difficulties in commercial development of the nuts was the extreme difficulty encountered in cracking the shells.

The recipe for macaroons varies around the world, but they all start with beaten egg whites, sugar and some kind of ground or shredded nut - almond, hazelnut and coconut are the most common ones. Macaroons are often eaten by Jewish people during Passover, because they do not contain any wheat or leavening ingredients, which are traditionally banned during Passover.

Welsh cakes are made from flour (self-raising for thicker and lighter cakes, plain for thinner and crisper cakes) and butter, with egg and/or water or milk added to make a nice doughy consistency. They are flavored with dried fruit (usually sultanas, raisins, or currants), spices such as cinnamon and nutmeg, and may have sugar added to the dough or sprinkled on top of the finished product. Sometimes the dried fruit is left out, and they are served split in half and covered with jam.

The concept of squeezing batter through a narrow opening into hot oil where it can be deep-fried and consolidate into a cake of worm-like pieces melded together is popular around the world. The ones in the picture have been covered with jam and fruit, although it is more common to just sprinkle powdered sugar over the top. Lamingtons, by the way, are made by cutting a tray of sponge cake into cubes, and dipping each one into a chocolate coating, then rolling it in coconut.
