Nellie-Rubina, Uncle Dodger and Mary Poppins met in the park at night and proceeded to 'set up' Spring. They put up all the wooden decorations that Uncle Dodger had previously readied. There were flowers, lambs, tree leaves, and birds. They put everything into place with dabs of green paint instead of glue.

When the children woke up the next morning, the snow had melted and Spring had arrived.

Everything tends to go wrong with Mr. Turvey on the second Monday of every month. If he wants to go in, he's automatically outside, and if he wants to be outside, he's automatically stuck inside.

His housekeeper Miss Tartlet started out being peevish and unfriendly, but when she starts to turn upside down like the others, she becomes prettier and sweeter. Also, it turns out that her full name is Topsy Tartlet. Together they became Topsy Turvy!

In each of the Mary Poppins books, there is always one chapter where Mary Poppins settles down and tells the children a story. In this series, she tells a story of a King and his loyal Fool, the Dirty Rascal. It is revealed that the Dirty Rascal is so familiar because he is actually Robertson Ay, the family's lazy handyman. He might be lazy, but he brings good luck wherever he goes.

In book two, Mary Poppins Comes Back, Mary Poppins promises Michael and Jane that this time she will stay until 'the chain breaks'. She means the chain that she is wearing around her neck with a gold locket hanging on the end of it. Although the children are curious as to what's inside the locket, Mary Poppins refuses to show them.

She had this locket with her when she first came back into their lives, and long before Annabel was even born.

The little old Balloon Woman kept urging everyone to take their time in choosing their balloons because each one was special. When Jane and Michael had theirs blown up, they discovered that the balloon had their names on it. If every one took their time, they would all get their 'own' balloons. Pretty soon, everyone was floating in the air with their balloons in the park, from the Prime Minister to the Ice Cream Man, and it turned out to be a wonderful afternoon in the park.
