She told the Starling of her journey into the earth, but within a week, had forgotten all about it. Mary Poppins, on her evening out, went to the circus in the sky - Jane and Michael went too, not knowing she was there. They had plenty of attractions there, one being a clown that told jokes and riddles. However, Jane and Michael knew all the answers to his riddles, and the clown was deeply shamed.

The Banks children were excited to be getting balloons, but the balloon lady warned the children to be careful when picking out their balloons. One woman, Lady Muriel Brighton-Jones, had accidentally picked out the Prime Minister's balloon, and he hers.

They switched, and then agreed to get married, since Lady Muriel was a jolly sort and the Prime Minister needed a wife who was cheery, since he was so serious.

The children all got balloons that all magically said their names. Michael's was yellow, Jane's was blue, the twins got a pink one (that read "John and Barbara Banks - One Between Them Because They Are Twins"), and Mary Poppins had a red one, with gold letters, that said "Mary Poppins".

With the balloons, they were able to float up into the air!

Mary Poppins and the Banks children went out on a snowy day to visit her friend, Nellie-Rubina, and Nellie-Rubina's Uncle Dodger. They had an ounce of conversation before leaving. Later that night, Jane and Michael spied on Nellie-Rubina, Uncle Dodger, and Mary Poppins as they glued leaves on the bare trees and let birds loose, bringing springtime.

Mary Poppins asked for a Return ticket, commenting that "you never know when a Return ticket will come in handy". Then she got on the merry-go-round, which began to lift off the ground and float into the sky. Mary Poppins left them once again, which made the Banks children sad. But they knew Mary Poppins would be back, if the Banks children needed her badly enough.
