Moorditj means good. The college in Perth where Noongar Health Workers do their training is called Marr Mooditj, meaning "Good Health".

Noongar language has words for the eldest child in the family, and the youngest, and for your aunt who is your father's sister, and another for your aunt who is your mother's sister.

When I was young, my dad always referred to the dogs as DWERTS. I didn't know until I grew up that it was a real word - I thought it was just a made up name.

Kojonup is the "place of the KODJA" or stone axe. Tambellup is the "place of tamars" (small kangaroo), while Ongerup is the "place of the kangaroo" and Nornalup is the "place of the snake".
In Western Australia, we say all the "ups" are down south.
