Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts

1. Which of these is classified as a 'Shellfish' Pokemon?

Answer: Kabuto

Kabuto and Kabutops are Shellfish Pokemon, as with Blastoise. Wartortle, however, is a 'Turtle' Pokemon, Omanyte is a 'Spiral' and Cloyster, as everyone knows, is a 'Bivalve' Pokemon. Or maybe that's just me.

2. TV question: As revealed in the Ruins of Alph, Prof. Oak was inspired to become a Pokemon researcher after seeing a fossil of what Pokemon?

Answer: Omanyte

'Fossil' should have eliminated Unown from the lists of diehard (or just attentive) Pokemon fans. Then again, maybe they just knew from the start.

3. Frieda of Friday is found near what building?

Answer: The Pokemon Center near Union Cave

Santos of Saturday is in Blackthorn, Tuscany of Tuesday is on Rt. 29, and Monica of Monday is just outside of Olivine. If you visit them on their day (they won't be there anytime else) they'll give you a gift!

4. Way back in Viridian Forest on the TV show, Ash and Samurai battled which tiring matchup of Pokemon?

Answer: Metapod vs. Metapod

Way back then, Ash only had Pikachu, Pidgeotto, and Metapod.

5. If you lived in Azalea Town, you would most likely love which Pokemon?

Answer: Slowpoke

Although its gym leader, Bugsy, is 'The Walking Bug Pokemon Encyclopedia', having Slowpoke Well and an abundance of those comparatively cute Pokemon wins out.

6. If you wanted to capture a Snorlax, what Apricorn would you give Kurt to maximize your chances of capturing it (with any Pokemon)?

Answer: Black Apricorn

Kurt would then make you a Heavy Ball, which captures a heavy Pokemon very well. Need I mention Snorlax is a whopping 1014 lbs?

7. What city has a 'Mysterious Blue Aura' surrounding it?

Answer: Cerulean City

Its Gym Leader, Misty, is 'The Tomboyish Mermaid'! I love water Pokemon.

8. Diglett is less than a foot tall.

Answer: True

Diglett Old Pokedex No.23 50...0'8'...2 lbs...Mole... I'm sure you can find the rest in your Pokedex.

9. Attract, the TM you get for defeating Whitney, has what TM number?

Answer: TM 45

If the opponent is of the opposite gender of the Pokemon using Attract, he or she will become infatuated with the Attracter and will not attack half of the time.

10. Why won't the chef at the restaurant in Celadon serve you?

Answer: There is a contest going on

The Leftovers is there. If given to a Pokemon, it will recover a bit of HP every turn.

11. Another Prof. Oak TV question: Where did he teach before coming to Pallet to start off new trainers?

Answer: Celadon City

I wish I could take the Ultimate Test there.

12. Which Whirl Island is the start of the quickest route to Lugia (that doesn't require you jumping a ledge)?

Answer: Northwest

Of course, if you don't have a Silver Wing in your possession, Lugia won't appear. The Silver Wing was found by either the Director or a man in Pewter City, depending on the version of your game.

13. Route 7 and what other route is home to Murkrow at night?

Answer: Route 16

14. The super-cute Eevee evolves into what Pokemon after being exposed to the fourth Stone Bill's Grandpa gives you?

Answer: Flareon

You may have not counted the Everstone, the first stone he gives you. Eevee is my absolute favorite Pokemon!

15. Parry, found on Route 45, battles with what Pokemon?

Answer: Onix

He will give you his phone number and eventually call you to witness a wild outbreak of the super-rare Marill in Mt. Mortar!
