The Playful Pokemon is Brock's Ludicolo. The one that releases itself is May's Skitty, and the greedy one is Ash's Corphish (it keeps taking food from other Pokemons' dishes.) The affectionate Pokemon is actually James of Team Rocket's Cacnea, who keeps clinging itself into James' face. Ouch.

May's Munchlax was never used. Not in Hoenn anyway. (She does use it in the Kanto contests.) She also never used her Wurmple or Silcoon at the time, mainly because she never got into her next contest until her Wurmple evolved twice into a Beautifly.

Even though he says different phrases in a few episodes, he always addresses the reward part with "Meowth and his friends" as if Giovanni appreciates Meowth the most. It's a bit ironic, however, because none of Team Rocket realize that they were sent into Hoenn not to start a new base, but to get out of whatever's left of Giovanni's hair.

May, of course, is Ash's partner. At times she requests to battle Ash just to test some of her contest skills, however at one point ("The Bicker the Better") the two of them face off in a classic battle of the sexes. Anthony is most notable in the episode "You Said a Mouthful" in which Anthony used a Pelipper with other Pokemon hidden in its pouch. Nicholai is the Pokemon-changer, the guy who always dresses up in various Pokemon suits (Such as Zangoose in "Zig Zag Zangoose") in order to help him get closer with nature.

They become researchers in "A Bite to Remember" to trick Max into giving up Poochyena. They also dressed up as the other people, but not to steal Ash and co.'s Pokemon. Most of the time they're in disguises because they're short on funds and need to make money, except as Pokemon coordinators (Jessie always wants to win a contest, and almost did a couple of times).

They became Pokeblock sellers in "Pros and Con Artists" but get foiled by a friend of May's. They also become Norman and family in "The Double Dilemma" (with Wobuffett and Meowth as the children) and pull off a pretty good job until May's Torchic burns the costume away.
