When Koby found Lady and Squirt they were stranded on the sand flats. Koby stayed with Lady and Squirt until help arrived. The whole time Koby was holding Lady upright so that she wouldn't drown.

Becky helped Koby get over being shy by making everyone hop on one foot. Becky invited Koby roller skating and Koby invited Becky to see the release of Lady and Squirt.

The name of the hurricane was Hurricane Lia. The hurricane destroyed many homes along the coast, but didn't destroy Dream Chaser or kill Lady and Squirt.

Koby's mom is going to work at the Marina office. She didn't like spending the day all alone on the boat with only housework to keep her occupied. When Koby's mom moved out she got a job at the Marina office and she told Koby's dad that she would move back in, but she wanted to keep her job. Koby's dad agreed.

Koby put seaweed in her dad's pocket. Throughout the book Koby and her dad play tricks on each other back and forth, but the tricks stopped when Koby and her mom moved out. Koby putting the seaweed in his pocket signified that everything would be all right.
