Now, on to the quiz!

Question 2 of 10

Question 4 of 10
4. Amy wants to view Nannerl's diary in the library, but when the librarian goes to find it, she discovers that it has been stolen! As luck would have it, Amy and Dan see one of their rivals, Jonah Wizard, on the television giving a press conference just a couple of doors down from the Mozarthaus. The notable absence of Jonah's father, who almost never leaves his side, leads Amy and Dan to deduce that Jonah now has the diary. They devise a plan to try and retrieve it from Jonah's hotel room. What hotel? Hint

Question 5 of 10
5. How do Amy and Dan escape the hotel after their presence has been discovered? Hint

Question 6 of 10

An explosion traps them inside in the pitch black, but they manage to find a way out. When they emerge from the tunnels with an ancient parchment in hand, a group of monks sees them with it and become very agitated. What order of monks? Hint

Question 7 of 10
7. After the fiasco with the monks, Dan and Amy track down 'uncle' Alistair, and catch him napping, which allows them to steal a clue from a secret hollow in his cane. It turns out to be a playbill advertising a Mozart concert in Venezia (Venice). After a five-hour drive they arrive in Venice and immediately spot Jonah Wizard on the highway. Nellie manages to follow him to a ferry. Trailing him on foot, Dan and Amy are eventually led by Jonah to one of the Cahill Branch Strongholds. Whose? Hint

Question 8 of 10
8. Dan and Amy manage to force Jonah Wizard and his parents to give up two pages from Nonnerl Mozart's diary that had been kept secured in their stronghold for many years. After escaping, where do they hide the papers (in case they get recaptured)? Hint

Question 9 of 10
9. A short misadventure with the Kabra family and cold canal water make Amy and Dan glad that they had hidden the papers. When they go back to find them, though, the boat has vanished! So much for that clue. So, they go back to Jonah Wizard and explain what happened.

Question 10 of 10
10. Amy and Dan are accosted AGAIN by Ian and Natalie Kabra, and this time a dart gun in hand forces Dan and Amy to cooperate or face an uncertain fate. Even so, the Cahill siblings manage to get the upper hand, and they leave the Kabras unconscious after a booby-trapped harpsichord explodes, revealing the next Clue. What do they find? Hint

Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Please note: The word clue when capitalized refers to one of "The 39 Clues." Otherwise it is just a minor clue to help find the real Clue. Now, on to the quiz! At the end of the first book in the series, "The Maze of Bones," Amy and Dan find a clue that points to Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - another member of the Cahill family. The beginning of "One False Note" finds the pair on a train heading for this city in Austria.

Answer: Vienna

Amy and Dan run afoul of the Holt family while on the train, and are forced to give up their clue. Thankfully, Dan has a terrific memory and is able to reproduce the musical clue that they had found.
2. Who begins a hunger strike while traveling on the train?

Answer: Saladin

Saladin is Grandma Grace Cahill's cat. The brother-sister team adopted him after Grace's mansion burned down. Saladin is a finicky eater, and prefers red snapper over other, more mundane, fare.
3. While conducting research at the library in the 'Mozarthaus,' Amy discovers information about Maria Anna "Nannerl" Mozart. What was her relationship to W.A. Mozart?

Answer: Older sister

Maria Anna "Nannerl" Mozart was, according to Amy's memories of conversations with Grace Cahill, just as talented as her younger brother, but due to her gender, never had the same training or opportunities as Wolfgang.
What hotel?

Answer: The Royal Hapsburg Hotel

It turns out that the Grand Duke of Luxembourg is also staying at the hotel. When they manage to sneak into the room that they THINK is Jonah's, it happens to be the Grand Duke's. Oops!
5. How do Amy and Dan escape the hotel after their presence has been discovered?

Answer: They jump from a second floor balcony.

Their Au Pair, Nellie Gomez, IS caught by the authorities. But she gets released after convincing them that she is just a rabid Jonah Wizard fan.
6. The diary leads the Cahill kids to the city of Mozart's birth: Salzburg. When they arrive, they see their 'uncle,' Alistair Oh, and follow him to the Salzburg Catacombs. An explosion traps them inside in the pitch black, but they manage to find a way out. When they emerge from the tunnels with an ancient parchment in hand, a group of monks sees them with it and become very agitated. What order of monks?

Answer: Benedictines

It turns out that the parchment Dan and Amy had grabbed was not related to the hunt for the 39 Clues at all! It was actually just the Benedictine Monks' ancient recipe for "Benedictine" (the drink), known only to that order of Monks, and closely guarded for centuries.
Whose?

Answer: Janus

The Janus stronghold displays many of the branch's dignified members, including Walt Disney, Beethoven, Mark Twain, Elvis, Dr. Seuss, Charlie Chaplin, Snoop Dogg, and more. It is obvious to Dan and Amy that Janus branch members have an affinity for the arts and for entertainment of the highest calibre.
8. Dan and Amy manage to force Jonah Wizard and his parents to give up two pages from Nonnerl Mozart's diary that had been kept secured in their stronghold for many years. After escaping, where do they hide the papers (in case they get recaptured)?

Answer: On a boat

They find a small pleasure craft named "Royal Saladin." With such an auspicious name, it seems the perfect hiding spot - and easy to remember with their red snapper-eating cat traveling with them.
9. A short misadventure with the Kabra family and cold canal water make Amy and Dan glad that they had hidden the papers. When they go back to find them, though, the boat has vanished! So much for that clue. So, they go back to Jonah Wizard and explain what happened.

Answer: False

They do manage to recover the sheets, and the information hidden therein leads them to the house of Fidelio Rocco, and also gives them the information they need to recover the next Clue! "D>HIC"

Answer: Two Samurai swords

The material from which the swords were made - tungsten - was the Clue, also revealed in a word puzzle they managed to decipher after the fact. From here, the next destination is obvious: Japan!
