He wrote several books among which "The Eiger Sanction" in 1972 which was then made into a thriller movie starring Clint Eastwood (as the retired assassin named Hemlock). In order to find out who the culprit is, Clint has to scale the Eiger, the most treacherous peak in the Swiss Alps.
