A tangerine is a small mandarin orange with a loose skin. Its name comes from the city of Tangier, a port in northwest Morocco, where the fruit was first grown.
2. Which English football team, famous for their tangerine shirts, won the 1953 F.A. Cup in what has become widely known as the "Matthews Final"?

Answer: Blackpool

Blackpool have been wearing tangerine shirts since 1923 (apart from a short spell in the 1930s). Stanley Matthews signed for them in 1947 and led them to the F.A. Cup final at Wembley on three occasions. On the last of those occasions, in 1953, they beat Bolton Wanderers 4-3 in a thrilling final, with Stan Mortensen scoring a hat trick. Winger Matthews has had the final named after him ever since.

For many years the game was contested between teams from Division 1-AA, but in 1973 it became a 1-A match-up. In 1983, the bowl's name was changed to the Florida Citrus Bowl. All games up to and including the one played on January 1st, 2019, were played in Orlando, with the exception of the 1973 game which was held in Gainesville.
