6. During Christmastime, when two people find themselves under a certain plant, they are supposed to kiss. Which plant is it?

Answer: Mistletoe

Originally used as a ceremonial plant, the mistletoe is today a Christmas plant. Have you ever wondered why we kiss under mistletoe? There are several myths that answer this question. Here is one:
In Norse myth, the God of summer Baldur dreamed of his death. His mother Frigga, Goddess of fertility and marriage, asked the elements of nature, animals and plants to not harm her beloved son. However, Loki, God of mischief, realised that Frigga's request did not mention the poisonous mistletoe. So Loki used mistletoe to make a poison arrow and managed to make Baldur's blind brother to shoot Baldur with the arrow. Mourning her son's death, Frigga called the elements to bring back her son but to no avail. Legend has it that the tears of Frigga changed the mistletoe's red berries to white and brought back Baldur from death. It was then that Frigga declared whoever who walked under the mistletoe shall by kissed by her as gratitude for the resurrection of her son.

Another Christmas plant, the holly, is used mostly for decorative purposes. Originally called the "holy tree", the holly originates from the Northern Europe countries. Today, the holly's green leaves and red berries are principally used to make decorative Christmas wreaths.

Poinsettia is another Christmas plant which blooms mostly in December. In Mexico, this plant is commonly known as the 'Flower of the Holy Night'.
