1. What army general had a sharp conflict with President Harry Truman about how the Korean War should be conducted?

Answer: Douglas MacArthur

The infamous feud resulted from MacArthur's continuing disregard to follow Truman's wishes of having a "limited war". MacArthur made public statements in regard to his being in favor of invading mainland China. In April 1951, Truman relieved MacArthur and replaced him with Matthew Ridgeway.
2. What actor played General Buck Turgidson in the 1964 movie "Dr. Strangelove or: How I Learned to Stop Worrying and Love the Bomb"?

Answer: George C. Scott

Scott usually appeared in more serious roles. He is perhaps most well-known for his revealing portrayal of the embattled WWII American general George Patton in the 1970 film "Patton" for which he won an Academy Award, but refused to accept it. Some of his other movies were "Anatomy of a Murder" (1959), "The Hustler" (1961) and "The List of Adrian Messenger" (1963).

He also appeared in dozens of other movies and TV shows. He passed away in 1999 at age 71.

They accompany a singing sister act (Rosemary Clooney and Vera-Ellen) who were hired by Waverly to entertain over the holidays. When they find their beloved former commander doing KP at his own hotel, they cook up an elaborate idea to try to help Waverly out of his financial difficulties.

Answer: He stayed in the army a few more years, then became a businessman.

After World War II, Groves was appointed the chief of the Armed Forces Special Weapons Project in 1947. He remained there only one year until he retired. After this he became vice president of the Sperry-Rand Corporation, an electronics business, until his retirement from there in 1961. He passed away in 1970 after suffering a heart attack.

He continued to lead a colorful life after the war and retired from military service in 1958. He passed away in 1976 at age 88.

In 1 Chronicles 27:34, Joab is the only person designated as a general in the KJV. In the KJV, other military leaders are referred to as captains, chief captains, or captains of the host. These are translated as "generals" in the New Revised Version and "commanders" in the New International Version.
