The only two countries in the world that feature a country map in the flag are Cyprus and Kosovo. The Cyprus flag, adopted in 1960 on the occasion of the country's independence, is white, the color of peace between two communities of Greeks and Turks living in the country. In its center is a gold map of the country and below are two green olive branches, which also represent peace.

The flag of Kosovo was adopted in 2018 on the occasion of its independence from Serbia. It is blue with the yellow map of the country in the center. Above the map is an arc formed by six white five-pointed stars. The stars represent the main ethnic groups that make up the nation.

Åsne Seierstad (1970) is a Norwegian journalist and writer, who in 2001 for three months lived with a book seller and his family in Kabul, Afghanistan. In her book she described the difficulties for the book trader whether under the communists or under the Taliban and also described the companionship of the bookseller's family, customs, and conflicts between Islamic values and those of the western world.

The book was released in Norway in 2002 and was soon translated into dozens of languages.

Kandy is considered a religious city for being the home of the "Temple of the Tooth Relic" which is located in the Royal Palace Complex and was declared a world heritage site by UNESCO in 1988. The relic of the tooth of Buddha is one of the holiest places in the world for Buddhists who worship Gautama Buddha whose teachings formed the basis of Buddhism.

In 1993, the "Kazakhstani tenge" was adopted as the national currency; it is split into 100 tiyn, code KZT.

Elizabeth Taylor and Richard Burton were first married in 1964 and divorced in June, 1974. A few months after their divorce, they went to Johannesburg to attend a charity event. From there they traveled to the Chobe Game Park in Botswana and on October 10, 1975 they remarried in the small town of Kasane.

Kasane serves as an administrative center of the Chobe District in Botswana. It is near Africa's "Four Corners" where Botswana, Namibia, Zambia and Zimbabwe's frontiers meet. Kasane is the gateway to Victoria Falls and Chobe National Park, specially known for the herds of elephants.

The marriage lasted less than one year but the small town of Kasane became known worldwide.

The Russian Wassily Wassilyevich Kandinsky (1866-1944) graduated in arts. Later he studied law and economics, becoming a university professor of Roman Law. He also traveled to several countries in Europe, but at the beginning of the WWI he returned to Russia. In 1920, he returned to Germany where he was a professor at the Bauhaus School from 1922 to 1933, when it was closed by the Nazis. At this time he moved to France where he stayed until the end of his life. Kandinsky is credited with being the pioneer in abstract art. His art was not always well accepted and his numerous works reflect his life experiences.
