Christopher Plummer (b. 1929) is a Canadian actor whose career has spanned six decades. During this period he has appeared in numerous movies and will be well remembered for his role as Captain Georg von Trapp in the 1965 musical "The Sound of Music".

He won his first Oscar as the Best Supporting Actor at 82 years for his role as Hal Fields in the romantic comedy "Beginners"(2012). Gregory Peck (1916-2003) was an American actor and although nominated five time for an Oscar won his only Oscar in 1962 at 46 years being the Academy Award for Best Actor as Atticus Finch in "To Kill a Mockingbird". Jack Palance (1919-2006) was an American actor of film and television.

He won his only Oscar in 1992 (73 years of age) as Best Supporting Actor for his role as Curly Washburn in the 1992 western comedy "City Slickers". Sidney Poitier (b.1927) is a Bahamian-American actor and director. In 1964 he won the Academy Award for Best Actor for his role as Homer Smith in the 1963 film "Lilies of the Field".

He was 36 years old at the time of this Oscar triumph.
