Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. Some 50 years ago Orson Welles submitted a list of what he thought were the 12 Best Films of all time. Which of these did not appear on his esteemed list?

Answer: Citizen Kane

Welles left his own movie off, even though it is arguably one of the best movies ever made. He picked 'City Lights' as his number one choice. 'Intolerance' was his number three and 'Stagecoach' was number nine.
2. Which historical figure's autograph is both the most rare and the most valuable?

Answer: Julius Caesar

I immediately thought of Jesus Christ, but my source notes that he could not write. Those listed here could all sign their names, but Caesar did it the least. Adolf Hitler didn't even make the official list, by the way.
3. According to studies, which of these dogs did not make the list of those which bite the most?

Answer: Cocker Spaniel

Of the four answers I gave, the Chow bites the most. Cocker Spaniels did not make the official list of biters.
4. Aristotle was named the number 1 mistake maker in some of his theories. Which one of these did he come up with that was totally off base?

Answer: The heart is the center of sensation and intelligence

I made up the three wrong answers. Edmund Whittaker, a distinguished mathematician, once said that 'Aristotle's natural philosophy was worthless and misleading from beginning to end'.
5. Who did the late actor Vincent Price not select as one of his preferred dinner guests from all of history, according to his Top 10 list?

Answer: Gertrude Stein

Price was actually a very cultured guy, but he didn't select Stein as someone he'd choose to break bread with. That was a hard one---I'll make the next one easier!
6. In the list '15 People Who Became Words', who doesn't appear?

Answer: Jenna May Gingham

My apologies if there really is a Jenna May. If so, nothing that I know of was named after her.
7. Who wasn't listed as one of the guests at 'The Last Supper'?

Answer: Mark

8. Which of these is not considered one of The 7 Wonders Of The Modern World, as per 'The Golden Book Of Facts And Figures'?

Answer: Space Needle

The Space Needle In Washington State pales in comparison to the others.
9. Which of these made the list of Ann Landers' 10 Most Unusual Situations that her readers wrote her with?

Answer: A man hid his wife's dentures so she couldn't go out and vote for a Democrat

What? You can't vote without dentures? That's the right one, though (and I had a great time making up those wrong ones :)).
10. Which of these is on the list of famous people born to unmarried parents?

Answer: Sophia Loren

Loren's parents never married---and she turned out pretty good. All the others had married parents and had many rough spots in their lives. Maybe one doesn't have much to do with the other? Who knows!
