1. Buddha's Tooth

A week after Buddha died, a fire engulfed his body. The only body parts that emerged from the fire unscathed were the forehead bone, two collar bones, and four teeth. One of Buddha's teeth (the fourth tooth discovered after the fire) is said to have mystical powers. Buddha's tooth is the size of a human pinky finger and is encased in gold and silver caskets, one inside the other. Buddha's tooth is encased in the seventh casket. Four people have keys to open the casket. All four keys must be used to open the caskets. King Vimaladharmasurya I housed the tooth in his Sri Lankan palace. Meanwhile, the king moved to another house. Sri Lanka holds a weeklong party every summer in honor of Buddha's tooth.
2. King Philip II's Larnax

Answer: Archaeological Museum; Vergina, Greece

A larnax is a funeral chest used for a person's bones or ashes. In this case the larnax was made for King Philip II of Macedon, who was the father of Alexander the Great. The larnax was a gold box sixteen by thirteen and a half inches long and weighing seventeen pounds. King Philip II's larnax was discovered in ancient Vergina. King Philip II was stabbed while at a wedding in Greece.

His remains were covered in a purple cloth and placed inside the larnax along with a gold wreath. The larnax was placed in a sarcophagus and buried.

It was discovered by Greek archaeologist Manolis Andronikos. The Archaeological Museum is found in Vergina, Greece.
3. Galileo's Middle Finger

Answer: Institute & Museum of the History of Science; Florence, Italy

Galileo's middle right finger is three and a half inches long and .79 inches wide. The finger is perched on an alabaster base in a glass casket. A Latin inscription by Tommaso Perelli is on the outside of the casket. Galileo's right middle finger was severed by Anton Francesco Gore during the transport of Galileo's remains to a better internment site.

The Institute & Museum of the History of Science is located in Florence, Italy.
4. George Washington's Childhood Copybooks

Answer: Library of Congress; Washington DC

Three copybooks belonging to George Washington and written between the ages of twelve and sixteen are kept at the Library of Congress in Washington, DC in the Manuscript Reading Room. The first journal is dark blue with gold tooling. The second journal is red while the third journal is black with gold tooling.

In the first journal, George Washington wrote questions that he wanted to find the answers to. In the second journal George wrote what he said were the "Rules of Civility". The third journal was entitled "Forms of Writing" and contained learning exercises.
5. Beethoven's Ear Trumpets

Answer: Beethoven House; Bonn, Germany

Beethoven's ear trumpets were long funnels made of brass. They were made by Johann Malzel in 1812 or 1813. Beethoven realized the ear trumpets weren't helping his hearing and stopped using them. When Beethoven died, he bequeathed his ear trumpets to Anton Schindler, his clerk. Anton gave the ear trumpets to Konigliche Bibliothek in Berlin, Germany.

In 1889, the ear trumpets were given to the Beethoven House in Bonn, Germany.
6. Delaware Peace Pipe

Answer: National Museum of Natural History; Washington DC

Major General William Henry Harrison gave one peace pipe each to the Delaware, Shawnee, and Wyandot Indian tribe during the second Treaty Council in Ohio. The three peace pipes were a gift from President James Madison as a way to thank the tribes for fighting with the Americans during the War of 1812. Only two peace pipes have been discovered.

The Delaware tribe's peace pipe was intact while the Shawnee's peace pipe needed repairs. The Delaware tribe's peace pipe is located in the National Museum of Natural History at Washington, D.C.

It was gifted to the NMNH by Victor Evans. The Shawnee tribe's peace pipe is located at the Kansas City Museum at Kansas City, Missouri. It was gifted to the KCM by a Civil War veteran named Daniel Dyer who collected Indian relics.
7. President Wilson's 'Fourteen Points'

Answer: Library of Congress; Washington DC

'Fourteen Points' was President Woodrow Wilson's plan for world peace in 1918, delivered to Congress in January 1918. President Wilson told Congress that going through his fourteen points would give "justice to all peoples and nationalities and their right to live on equal terms and liberty and safety with one another whether they be strong or weak'. President Wilson typed the final draft on his own typewriter and gave it to his daughter after he made the speech to Congress. An armistice was signed on November 11, 1918. President Wilson's shorthand version of 'Fourteen Points' is located in the Manuscript Division of the Library of Congress at Washington D.C.
8. The Maltese Falcon

Answer: Warner Bros. Museum; Burbank, California

There are two versions of the Maltese Falcon. The first version is made of lead and bronze and weighs fifty pounds. This version has slash marks on the falcon's head. The second version is made of lead and has a bent tail feather that occurred when the falcon was accidentally dropped.

Hammett's book, "The Maltese Falcon" was turned into several movies, but the closest movie to the book was made in 1941 by John Huston.

One of the Maltese Falcons from the movie was going to be sold at Christie's auction house, but the auction was cancelled when the authenticity of the statue could not be proven. Ronald Winston bought the first version of the Maltese Falcon from the William Conrad estate for $398,000. The second was purchased by Dr. Gary Milan in 1987. Doctor Milan was a dentist and artifact collector. His version of the Maltese Falcon can be found at Warner Bros. Museum in Burbank, California.
9. Marilyn Monroe's White Billowy Dress

Answer: Lee Strasberg's Storage Bin; Chelsea, New York

Marilyn Monroe bequeathed Lee Strasberg seventy-five percent of her estate upon her death. After Lee's death, his wife Anna kept the majority of the estate at the Chelsea Mini Storage in New York. When a break-in occurred, one of the items proven to have been stolen was Marilyn Monroe's iconic white billowy dress from the movie "Seven Year Itch". Six and a half months later, a suspect named Jesus Davila was found to have stolen some items from Strasberg's storage bin and kept the stolen items in another storage bin on the property.

When the stolen items were itemized, the dress was not found. After careful search of the Strasberg's storage bin for a second time, the dress was discovered still in the bin. A replica of Marilyn Monroe's white billowy dress can be found at The Hollywood Museum on loan from Debbie Reynolds.
10. Elvis Presley's Purple Cadillac

Answer: Graceland Museum; Memphis, Tennessee

When Elvis purchased the 1956 Cadillac Eldorado Boritz, he smashed grapes on the exterior to show Jimmy Saunders Custom Auto body shop what color he wanted the Cadillac painted. After having it for a year and a half, too many fans were familiar with the vehicle and Elvis traded it. Somehow, Lena Moskovitz found out what Elvis was doing and purchased the traded Cadillac for a little more than $4,000 and her Cadillac.

After Lena passed away, her husband kept the Cadillac in a field where the weather and wayward teens destroyed the vehicle.

When the Cadillac was found, it was sold at auction for $975 and bought by James Cantrell from Georgia. He and his wife restored the car to show it to Elvis. Unfortunately, Elvis passed away before he could see his purple Cadillac again.

The Cadillac now resides in Elvis's home, Graceland.
