Quiz Answer Key and Fun Facts
1. The French word for chicken is poule. What does it also mean as a slang term?

Answer: prostitute

Be careful with this one, in English we use chicken to mean wimp. Poule means girl or literally hen. It is a slang term for prostitute.
2. One of the women in "Rocky Horror Picture Show" was at one time a Playboy Bunny. Who was it?

Answer: Patricia Quinn (Magenta)

Yes, the eyeless domestic Magenta was a Bunny. It gives you the idea that Bunnies of the past were more realistic in body shape.
3. In the movie "Stargate", the people who went through the Stargate put on sunglasses once emerging into the foreign planet. Did they do this to protect their eyes from the real-life glaring Arizona sun?

Answer: Yes

The sun in the desert near Yuma is very harsh (I personally know this to be fact) so director Roland Emmerich made the choice to have them all wear sunglasses so they wouldn't be constantly squinting.
4. Documentary film maker Michael Moore held public office at age 18, was recalled, and won his recall election.

Answer: True

He was elected to the Board of Education the year 18 year olds were given the right to vote. He ran on the platform of firing his principal. He won his recall by saying that if he was re-elected, he wouldn't do a single thing differently.
5. Which President of the United States poked a very high-ranking Russian official in the chest?

Answer: Nixon

It was before he was president, but Richard Nixon got into a heated discussion with Nikita Khrushchev and began poking him to make his point.
6. In the Kabbalah, there are ten Sefirot or aspects of God. Which of the following is the highest or most distant aspect of God?

Answer: Keter

Keter is the highest, it means crown in Hebrew. In descending order, the ten Sefirot are Keter, Binah and Hokhmah, Din and Hesed, Tiferet, Hod and Nezah, Yesod, and finally Shakhinah.
7. In "Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory", Gene Wilder ate a buttercup in the candy room. What was the buttercup made of?

Answer: wax paper

He had to continue chewing until the director called cut because he couldn't swallow it.
8. A dorm on the University of Arizona campus is rumoured to have a ghost.

Answer: True

One of the women's dorms, Maricopa is also the oldest dorm at U of A, so it makes sense they have a ghost. The story goes, when Maricopa was the Governor's Mansion, the governor's daughter hanged herself in the basement. That's the story everyone knows.

There's also a newer (relatively) story that a sorority girl (yes, Maricopa was also a sorority house) killed herself over her boyfriend, and now if you have your boyfriend stay over for the night, she'll curse your relationship.
9. It is illegal for a man to transport a woman across US state lines for the purpose of prostitution or debauchery.

Answer: True

This law has been in effect since the Progressive Era, which was that fun political era at the beginning of the twentieth century, and it's a federal crime. Many dating couples were arrested because they were "violating" this law.
10. Of the following, who didn't drop out of college?

Answer: Jon Stewart

'Daily Show' host Jon Stewart graduated from the College of William and Mary. Microsoft's Bill Gates and actor Matt Damon dropped out of Harvard, and actor Jake Gyllenhaal dropped out of Columbia.
