The angel Gabriel came to Muhammed in a cave on Mt. Hira and revealed to him the first of the many Suras included in the Quran. What are 'suras' you say? They are the chapters of the Quran!

Answer: Alone

Bierce first published the 'Devil's Dictionary' in 1906 as the 'Cynic's Word Book'. It's one of those works that still resonates today...

Answer: Alfonso X

During the Castilian reign of Alfonso X Sabio (the wise) which lasted from 1252 to 1284, much of the translation work of the great texts of medieval Arab scholars took place. In addition, some of the ancient works of Greek scholars were translated into Latin for the first time from the Arabic (originally translated from Greek to Arabic).

The only remaining species from this once-large phylum is the Ginkgo or maidenhair tree. The gingko tree is native to China, and is often associated with Chinese medicine. It is now cultivated worldwide.

Gorky means 'the bitter one' in Russian, while Arshile is derived from the name Achilles, the Greek mythological hero. Gorky settled in America in 1920 at the age of 16 and soon became associated with the Surrealists, and later the Abstract Expressionist movement.

He committed suicide at only 44 years old after his wife left him soon after he had been involved in a terrible car accident.
