Answer: Coral Sea

The Coral Sea is a sea of the South Pacific Ocean located off the state of Queensland in north east Australia. The Coral Sea Islands Territory (belonging to Australia) is located in the Coral Sea and is made up of a number of small islands and reefs which are uninhabited apart from Willis Island.

The sea was the site of the Battle of the Coral Sea, a naval battle between Japan and the US and Australia during World War II. The Great Barrier Reef is the world's largest coral reef system and was made a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1981.

The Labrador Sea lies between the Labrador Peninsula of Canada and Greenland. The sea is located in the North Atlantic Ocean and connects to Hudson Bay via the Hudson Strait and Baffin Bay via the Davis Strait. The Labrador Sea is a breeding ground for seals who breed on the ice that covers the northern and eastern parts of the sea in winter.

The Java Sea lies between the islands of Borneo, Sumatra, Sulawesi and Java in Indonesia and is part of the Pacific Ocean. The Java Sea is relatively shallow with an average depth of just 151 ft. The Battle of the Java Sea took place in the sea during World War II; this battle saw the Japanese Imperial Navy defeat an allied naval force consisting of British, Dutch, Australian and US ships and led to the Japanese forces occupying the Dutch East Indies, as Indonesia was called at the time.

The Bering Sea is a sea of the Northern Pacific Ocean and is found between Russia on the Eurasian landmass and the US State of Alaska on the American landmass. To the north of the Bering Sea lies the Bering Strait which connects the sea to the Arctic Ocean.

The Bering Sea was named after the Danish navigator Vitus Bering who while serving with the Russian Navy was the first European to explore the area.

The Bosporus (sometimes spelt Bosphorus) is a narrow strait between the Sea of Marmara and the Black Sea. The Bosporus splits the Turkish city of Istanbul into its European and Asian halves. The Bosporus is of great strategic importance as it is the only sea route from the Black Sea and therefore the only sea route from the coasts of Bulgaria, Georgia, Romania, Ukraine and south west Russia.

The Ross Sea is a bay of the Southern Ocean and is located between the Antarctic areas of Victoria Land and Marie Byrd Land. The sea sees a lot of scientific research due to its high level of biodiversity and in 2016 it was designated as a marine park by the Commission for the Conservation of Antarctic Marine Living Resources.

The Sea is named after the British explorer and Royal Navy officer James Ross who led an expedition to the area in 1841.

Aruba and Curacao are Caribbean islands and are two of the four constituent countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands along with the Netherlands and Sint Maarten. Citizens of Aruba and Curacao are classed as Dutch citizens under Dutch law. Both islands are located in the south of the Caribbean Sea close to the Venezuelan coast.

The Tasman Sea is named after Abel Tasman who was a Dutch explorer in the early 17th century and the first European known to have come across New Zealand and the island of Tasmania off the southern coast of Australia.

The Yellow Sea is a sea of the Western Pacific Ocean found between China and the Korean Peninsula. The name describes the yellow colour that the surface of the sea turns when sand storms from the Gobi Desert deposit fine grains of sand on the sea. The two northernmost areas of the Yellow Sea are known as the Bohai Sea and Korea Bay.

The Irish Sea is the name of the sea that lies between the islands of Great Britain and Ireland. The Isle of Man is the second largest island in the Irish Sea with the Welsh island of Anglesey being the largest. As a Crown Dependency the Isle of Man is not part of the United Kingdom and is self-governing making its laws in its own parliament called the Tynwald, although the UK government has responsibility for defence and represents the island in international matters.
