Auckland is on the North Island of New Zealand. It is the largest city, and landmarks of Auckland include the Sky Tower and One Tree Hill. Wellington is the capital of New Zealand.

Answer: Edinburgh of the South

Dunedin's nickname is Edinburgh of the South. Dunedin is the second largest city on the South Island and it is the main city of the Otago region. Dunedin is twinned with four other cities throughout the world which are Edinburgh, Otaru, Portsmouth (Virginia) and Shanghai.

Lake Taupo is in the North Island in New Zealand. It is a crater lake with a maximum depth of 186 metres. Skydiving is a popular local sport in Taupo, and there is also a cycling tour that goes around the lake which can take some time!

Although Pine Creek, Katherine and Alice Springs are all in the Northern Territory, it is the capital, Darwin, that is on the Timor Sea. One place to go in Darwin is the Deckchair Cinema where you can watch films outside. Another place you can visit is Crocosaurus Cove where you can get up close and say "hello" to the crocodiles. You will definitely be not seeing me at the latter as I have got a phobia about alligators and crocodiles!

The Swan River runs for 37 miles through Perth. The Swan Brewery is right beside the river. If you want to get the best view of the river, you can take a picnic at Kings Park.

Sydney Harbour Bridge is a wonderful site. It was modelled on the Tyne Bridge (which joins Newcastle and Gateshead) and was built by the same engineers - Dorman Long of Teesside in England.

Although all these mountains are in New South Wales, Mount Kosciuszko is the highest. It is located in the Snowy Mountains and is very near to the border of the state of Victoria. Mount Kosciuszko is between Sydney and Melbourne, the state capital of Victoria. Definitely not suitable for electric wheelchairs!

Adelaide is the state capital of South Australia. It was named after a German princess who married a British king called William IV, who reigned for seven years until his death in 1837.

A "Gold Rush" started in Kalgoorlie, which is a town in Western Australia 370 miles east of Perth. This particular "Gold Rush" started in 1893. The town is also called Kalgoorie-Boulder.
