Lake Placid hosted the games in 1932 and again in 1980 (remember the Miracle on Ice?).

There are 11 Finger Lakes in total. From east to west they are:
Otisco, Skaneateles, Owasco, Cayuga, Seneca, Keuka, Canandaigua, Honeoye, Canadice, Hemlock, and Conesus Lakes.
The Iroquois Confederacy, also known as the League of Peace and Power, consisted of the Seneca, Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, Mohawk, and Tuscarora Nations. The Finger Lakes were named by the Iroquois, so many of the names are shared.
