I would need to visit the fascinating country of Jordan. Built around the 6th century BC, Petra is famous for its rock-cut architecture. The city was unknown to the Western world until 1812 when it was first described by Swiss explorer Johann Burckhardt. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985.
2. Which country am I traveling to next, if I am planning to tour the ruins of the ancient city of Carthage?

Answer: Tunisia

I guess the choices let you know I will be going to the continent of Africa. While there are many wondrous things to see I will have chosen to travel to the capital city of Tunis, Tunisia. The remains of the city of Carthage are found here and are at least 2,500 years old.

At one time a powerful city originally founded by the Phoenicians, the city was destroyed by the Romans around 146 BCE during the Punic Wars. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage site in 1979.
3. Before I leave Africa, I want to see the Rock-Art Sites of Tadrart Acacus in which of these countries, once known for its solid green flag?

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1985, the rock paintings in Tadrart Acacus are found in the country of Libya. There are thousands of cave paintings and open area rock paintings located here. The oldest of these date to 12,000 BCE and depict local animals and humans engaged in activities of daily life. They are truly spectacular.
4. I will now fly to South America so that I can visit the ancient Incan city Machu Picchu located in which of the following countries?

Machu Picchu was first described to the outside world by American historian and explorer Hiram Bingham in 1911. Located high in the Andes mountains, the ruins are almost 8,000 ft. (2,400 meters) above sea level. To visit this spectacular site requires an exhaustive hike and donkey ride in the very thin mountain air. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, a visit to this ancient city should be in everyone's bucket list.
5. Next, I will travel north to which of the following countries, so that I can visit the magnificent ruins of the Mayan city of Copan?

Answer: Honduras

Copan is located in Honduras not far from its border with Guatemala in Central America. The city is at least 2,000 years old is believed to have been the capital of the Mayan culture between the 5th and 9th centuries AD. In its heyday the inner city was home to as many as 10,000 people with many thousands more living in the periphery. It was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1980.

Answer: Easter Island

Rapa Nui National Park is located on the isolated Easter Island. Established in 1935 as a UNESCO World Heritage Site this unique island with its giant carved moai should serve as a lesson to the rest of the world. The islands inhabitants were so worried about building moai, which are giant carved depictions of humans, that they depleted their island home of all wood and became unable to make boats or fire. Overpopulation and a lack of natural resources resulted in cannibalism.
7. My next visit will be Tongariro National Park located in which of the following countries?

Answer: New Zealand

Tongariro National Park is located in the center of North Island, New Zealand and is the oldest national park in the country. Located in the park are three active volcanoes and numerous Maori religious sites. Much of the flora and fauna are found nowhere else. Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1990, this area is one of the most pristine and scenic of the locations that have been honored on this list of protected sites.
8. My next vacation spot will be 11th century Bagrati Cathedral located in the city of Kutaisi in which country?

Answer: Georgia

The Bagrati Cathedral, which is considered a masterpiece of medieval Georgian architecture is now in ruins. Built in the 11th century during the reign of King Bagrati III, hence its name, this beautiful building was partially destroyed in 1692 by Ottoman troops who set off an explosion that caused the cupola and most of the roof to collapse. Plans for restorations were started in 1952 and the site was added to the UNESCO World Heritage Sites in 1994.
9. Conwy Castle will be my next stop, as I will be traveling to which of these locations?

Answer: Wales

Conwy Castle is a fantastic stone castle built in the late 13th century during the reign of King Edward I. The castle is built on a rock promontory near the mouth of the Conwy River. Today a railway runs beside the south walls of the Palace which is in ruins.

A truly spectacular sight, it is but one of four castles built by this king that are part of this unique UNESCO World Heritage Site.
10. My last stop before going home is going to be Waterton-Glacier International Peace Park which is jointly located in which of the following places?

Answer: Canada and the United States

Declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1995, this site is a combination of Waterton Lakes National Park in Alberta, Canada and Glacier National Park in state of Montana, USA. The combined area of the parks is over one million acres and is home to over 130 lakes.

This beautiful mountainous area is a jewel of North America and is home to hundreds of species of plants and animals that flourish here all year around. A stay at the Prince of Wales Hotel, built in 1926, is a must.
