Answer: Purple Lilac

The weakfish is Delaware's state fish, the ladybug is the state insect, and Delaware Diamond is the name of the state star.

Sean comes back to visit about once a year to see some of his old teachers and talk to the students.

Answer: New Castle

In New Castle, most of the town is still like it was in the 1700's with some renovations of course. You can visit some of the old places including George Read's house, who was one of the representatives from Delaware to sign the Declaration of Independence. Dover became the capital in 1777.

It touches Pennsylvania and Maryland. On Artificial Island (where the Hope Creek nuclear plants are), it is possible to walk from DE to NJ and vice versa.

The University of Delaware football team became NCAA I-AA Champions on December 19, 2003 after defeating Colgate 40 to 0. Go Blue Hens!

Public smoking was banned November 27, 2002.

Answer: Caesar Rodney

Caesar Rodney was a very important part of Delaware's history. He was a leading patriot of Delaware, member of the Delaware Committee of Correspondence, and he was elected President of the State of Delaware for a three year term. He also is known for his famous ride to Philadelphia to be the deciding vote for the Declaration of Independence even though he was very sick because of a cancerous growth on his face.
14. There are five states with smaller populations than Delaware.

Those states are Alaska, North Dakota, South Dakota, Vermont, and Wyoming.
