Answer: The Confederation Bridge

The Confederation Bridge connects Borden-Carlton, Prince Edward Island to Cape Jourimain, New Brunswick. It took nearly four years to build, but was finally completed in 1997. The bridge is 12.9km (8 miles) long.

Charlottetown and Summerside are both harbour cities. They are known for their beaches, sandstone cliffs, and coastlines. If you live in a big place, it must be hard to believe that there are only two cities in the province of Prince Edward Island, but it's normal for us!

There are three counties in Prince Edward Island. They are called Prince County, Queens County and Kings County. Prince County is located in western PEI, Queens County is located in central PEI and Kings county is located in eastern PEI.

Answer: Anne of Green Gables

"Anne of Green Gables" celebrated 100 years of publication in 2008. The author of this book, L.M. Montgomery, was a Prince Edward Island native. She wrote many books, but "Anne of Green Gables" was her most popular. Tourists from all over the world come to Prince Edward Island every year to visit the many National Historic sites related to the book.

Prince Edward Island is one of the ten provinces of Canada and is located in eastern Canada. Prince Edward Island joined the Canadian confederation on the 1st of July (Canada Day) 1873, and was the seventh province to do so.

Answer: Blue Jay

Prince Edward Island has a provincial bird, tree and flower. The Blue Jay was officially named Prince Edward Island's provincial bird in 1977 after a province-wide public vote. Blue Jays are one of the few birds that can survive the harsh Prince Edward Island winters.

Answer: The Lady's Slipper

The Lady's Slipper can also be known as the moccasin flower in the US. It was officially chosen as the provincial flower of Prince Edward Island on 25 April 1947. In Prince Edward Island, it is illegal to pick Lady's Slippers as they are very rare.

Answer: The Red Oak

The Red Oak was officially adopted as the provincial tree of Prince Edward Island in 1905. The Black Spruce is Newfoundland and Labrador's provincial tree, the Red Spruce is Nova Scotia's provincial tree and the Balsam Fir is New Brunswick's provincial tree.

Answer: It doesn't have a provincial berry

Prince Edward Island doesn't have a provincial berry--Nova Scotia is the only Canadian province to have a provincial berry. The town of Oxford, Nova Scotia proclaims itself to be the "Blueberry Capital of Canada".

Answer: The Mi'kmaq

The Mi'kmaqs were the first people to inhabit Prince Edward Island, and they named it Abegweit, which means "cradled by the waves". Prince Edward Island was also baptized "Isle St-Jean" by the French.
